Hi Everyone,

Just started playing to feel the nostalgia in full effect.  One of my favorite things about the Vanilla days was stumbling into those Silver Elites...so I used some regex to compile a mostly complete list to work with the UnitScan addon: https://github.com/shirsig/unitscan.  I haven't really messed around on the server very much but figured I would post my unitscan.lua in case anyone else wants to give it a shot.  Just paste the following into [Install Directory]\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\[USERNAME]\SavedVariables/unitscan.lua

Well, I can confirm this works now :)  Was cruisin around in Stormwind and all the sudden the horn went off and Sewer Beast was there!  Too bad I'm level 11...

The unitscan mod stores the elites you track in a file called unitscan.lua in the folder I listed.  You can see what it looks like if you ty adding you're own using the command /unitscan name, where name is the rares name.  I just compiled a list of all of the rares and doctored the file so I didnt't have to add them one by one.

Im currently using uniscan and has been looking for this list, where did you find it?
Also, does the scanned targets get re-enabled upon client launch/addon reload?
Currently when a scanned target gets spotted I have to re "/unitscan "string"" to enable the tracker again.

Going to try this tonight. Looks great. I am pretty excited that this will save a ton of time for me running around spamming targeting macros per zone. Curious about whether i have to re-paste the list after every session so it keeps tracking the rares. I am also guessing even if the rare is dead the alert will go off?

 

So downloaded the addon last night and installed but doesn't seem to go off? Opened the lua file with notepad and copied and pasted the text for rares under my  character account? Even did /unitscan "petname" and still didn't go off?

I know this is a super late reply but if you go into the properties of unitscan.lua and tick in "Read-only" it'll reload all of the rare elites every time you start up WoW, saving you some time from having to keep copy pasting it all back in the lua file.
