DKP is a meme -
Agreed, there realistically isn't many options available to the team to "fix" this problem and the ones that do exist will surely incite the community one way or another.

You're correct on a lot of things and I'm not disagreeing with the substance to your argument in regards to the three realms competing with one another (which is a problem in itself as you perfectly mention), my disagreement is the execution. I don't believe a population cap will have any meaningful impact on Anathema and Darrowshire's population. The "community" is firmly entrenched on Elysium, trying to get them to budge could have disastrous repercussions on the project's health as a whole which is why I believe the staff haven't done anything just like they didn't do anything for Zeth either. The risk of propping up two ailing servers at the expense of your bread bringer is just not something the staff would attempt im my opinion. Could be wrong though, your suggestions very well could work, but in my own opinion I don't see that happening.

Felmyst wasn't a successful launch by any means, I don't see how you can use them as an argument for small cap. Crestfall is still in the very beginning of beta testing, there is a lot of work for us to spend time on and population caps are anything but final. The high pop realms have been in demand since Nost, Warmane particularly is the biggest offender of "population inflation" with their obscenely high pop realms killing off all their other competition. PlayTBC was also uncapped, as was the successive TBC servers L4G and Hellground before they had to put in caps due to horrific server performance. K2 was a giant server with 8-9k + que in the beginning, another giant project for you to think about. The standard is high pop or no pop these days, and Anathema and Darrowshire combined barely sniff the required amount to satisfy the mindless horde that is our community, it is why Elysium is so much larger and successful. People want the high pop.

People aren't going to roll on the already progressed server with vastly less people, we already saw this with Zeth'Kur. Realistically there isn't a whole lot the staff could do beyond what they are already doing to "save" Darrowshire and Anathema. In my opinion those servers have already run their course in terms of content (your average player will probably reach ZG/BWL but not much further beyond that due to the amount of time required for both AQ and Naxx). This along with the "Big Fish" small pond syndrome with Elysium itself being the magnate that keeps this project afloat. There are inherent risks setting a cap or opening transfers from a "healthy" realm to one entering in the final phase of its lifespan (Anathema is 2+ years old now right?) that the staff surely know about, its why nothing was ever done to "save" Zeth. And yes, they are "sinking" ships whether people like to acknowledge them or not, I remember people telling me Zeth would have been fine with 200 pop, unfortuantely the vast, vast majority of the people playing this project are here for the high pop pvp realm, that is the entire allure of this project, not the scripting or the service, but the population. Nost fundamentally changed how the private server community viewed things, for better or for worse depending on your opinion. No longer is a 1-2k realm "acceptable" to the massive zerg of Vanilla players who seem to roam from server to server.

I'm gonna ban u from discord kid if you dont stop trolling Penny

There was no other "solution" and the staff couldn't come up with one either, so they went with the best choice, a server merge. The data never lied, and the server was past the point of recovery by the time we started to organize. There wasn't "1.5k" either, the server was still hemorrhaging 14-15% weekly which isn't sustainable. Clearly you never put much thought or even research into the realm you're so energetically crying about if you didn't know that. Glad whiny betas like you are off staff, we need more alpha bulls like Jakira who put people like you who are all about "muh feel feels" in their place and respect evidence and logical arguments like I brought to the table.
-
You actually just reflected on what I believe is the primary issue at hand which is the "community" zergs from one project to another to try and chase the ever illusive feeling that Nost gave us when we saw thousands of people online at any time. New comers to the project are obviously going to roll on the fresher, more populated server over the old and geriatric ones. Once you've created a monster like the Elysium realm is, it'll slowly eat away at the other smaller satellite realms like it did with Zeth'Kur, and now Anathema.
-
My kind of "thinking" is based on logic, the server was hemorrhaging players at an irrecoverable rate, I presented the data and argued for a solution (server merge) which is what ended up occurring. I was more organized, I had facts, and good arguments that helped influence the decision. People liked to cry or put blame on me, but in the end it was a good choice by the staff and Zeth's transfer to Elysium actually increased the servers population despite claims from people like you saying majority would quit if the servers got merged. Dismissing me and using anecdotal insults to divert reality is laughable, we won and now smarter men than me are doing the same on Anathema because they are passionate about the server. Zeth'Kur lost over 60% of its population by March with 14-15% net loss trends being the average all the way into May. The server was doomed regardless of your personal opinion on me. I simply marshal'd the resources and the community into listening to us.
-
Yes, me using hard data and showing clear negative population trends the predating ANY world chat shitposting by MONTHS was clearly "pollution". Once again, glad to know you aren't on staff because morons like you are the reason why the servers ever got to that state.
-
Reading the rest of this guy's posts makes me think he is simply a retard. Glad he isn't on staff anymore, that kind of thinking is why the realms got to this situation in the first place.

I can't believe there are people who still think I had that kind of influence to cause the death of Zeth'Kur. This has been proven wrong numerous times, there were much bigger factors at play, and ironically the staff contributed to the rapid demise of Zeth in the spring with Shenna's famous "trust us or fuck off" quote. There was no "grand conspiracy", and if you were even involved with the Zeth migration you'd know it wasn't just me who was openly vocal about "saving" Zeth from imminent death. People don't want to feel like they wasted their time on a realm that has no realistic future when the rest of the community is having a grand old time on another realm. This is another fundamental issue with Elysium in the fact that there was simply too many servers. Anathema is clearly obsolete, and the community as a result are either quitting or rerolling to the main server, Elysium. The staff also laid down the hammer when they announced there would be no measures to stem the losses Anathema is currently dealing with in regards to a transfer. If I was maining on Anathema and heard that news I would have quit that realm and rerolled within minutes of reading it. There is no point in playing on a server that will die. Trying to shift blame on individual players tired of unresponsiveness from the staff for the the population crashes that occured on Zeth, Darrowshire, and now Anathema just isn't realistic when Shenna's single reddit post did more more damage than any world chat shitpost I made. I've been pretty quiet since Zeth was merged with Elysium since my guild and I are comfortable and happy not being on a "ded serber" anymore, but some people linked me this thread and we had a good laugh at your posts and I felt like a reply was warranted. Population decay is inevitable, especially when you're as far into content as Anathema is. Ignoring that and attempting to rationalize it as a "grand conspiracy" of whiny players is disgusting.

Hard to encourage anyone to join discord when they are Chinese and can't even read your messages because of their client kek

Currently she has a 2 hour spawn rate, and as you know, resetting the quest even if another player is failing his attempt is considered griefing so everyone has to wait 2 hours before another attempt can be made. My suggestion is drastically increasing her spawn time to 5 or 10 minutes between attempts due to the massive population of our server and the make up of the players (many Horde Priests are Chinese for example and walk right up to the quest without waiting in line causing a reset). An increase in spawn time would allow a much larger amount of players through without the build up of players who are more likely to grief the quest on accident or start PvPing in the area.

Sounds like a nice plan for a summer vacation...!
