Yeah, Ele does fine in PvP. It's just really bad for PvE. Either you do shit DPS, or you go OOM in 2 minutes. There's a reason why people are reluctant to have non-healer priest/shaman/druid/paladin in raids: they're not very good in PvE.

You'd do horrible DPS. Flametongue does scale with spell damage, yes, but only a small amount. I think 10 or 15%. Flame Shock also does little damage and will get pushed off by other debuffs very quickly. Hardcasting lightning bolt will also reset your swing timer. You'd be doing pitifully low DPS while bringing nothing extra to the raid, that a resto shaman couldn't. That's the reason why Ele is not viable in PvE: You do crap DPS and you don't bring anything special to the raid. A resto shaman can bring all the same totem buffs while actually being useful, with great healing. Though it's not so much that Ele has bad damage, it's more that you can't really sustain that damage for long periods of time, because you have no mana restoring abilities like Mage/Warlock do. Even spamming runes/major mana, you'd still run OOM in under 2 minutes of spamming lightning bolt.

There are different levels of severity when it comes to "illegal" things. Jaywalking is illegal, but you don't see anyone freaking out over it. Don't use VanillaGuide, use an addon called "Questie". Instead of blindly following a guide, just let Questie show you which quests are available to you. (it points out questgivers on the map)

Grave Moss is one of the harder herbs to farm, since it only spawns in a few places across the entire world, and in really small numbers. I've tried to farm them in multiple spots, but to no avail. However, a friend told me that you can farm it inside SM: Graveyard, and I found this to be really effective. There is a single Grave Moss spawn inside the instance that is always there, so what you do is just go in, walk past all the mobs, loot that one Grave Moss node, then go back out and reset instance. Sure, you're limited to 5 instances per hour, but: -it's guaranteed to be there -no competition, because it's inside an instance -only takes 12-14 minutes to do 5 runs (without any speed boosts) so the actual amount of time spent farming is pretty low -usually only have to kill 1 mob, sometimes it doesn't pull though Some people will suggest doing RFD for grave moss, but that is a much longer run, and requires you to kill lots of mobs, which can be a pain in the ass for healers. UPDATE: I've recently discovered that it's faster to just use /camp to leave the instance, instead of walking back out. Can save up to 40 seconds on each run, bringing the total farming time of 5x instances down to about 9 minutes. Just use this macro: /script ResetInstances(); /camp Here's a video:

"soloing instances" ? Which ones? The only instance that gets commonly soloed for gold farming is Maraudon, and you're best off using a Hunter or Warlock for that.

I've been using a macro program (Razer Synapse) to type my password ever since the server opened, still not banned. Pretty sure a GM explicitly said that using automated key stuff to type your password is fine, so long as you don't use it for anything in-game. Hell, there should be no way for the server to detect you even using macro software at the login screen, since you're not even connected yet.

My guild had the same problems. We ended up using Greater Shadow Protection Potion on the whole raid, as well as marking nef with a moon so that ranged can pillar-hump to avoid his aoe shadowbolts.

Wasn't that server horribly badly scripted, though? I read about how there was tons of broken shit, like mobs hitting for 3x their normal damage, or pathing being horribly broken, spells with wildly incorrect coefficients, etc.

I remember asking if Ice Barbed Spear was available from the AV win quest on Darrowshire, was told that it was, and now I'm finding out it's not. Completed AV, turned in quest, no follow-up quest for rewards. was told in the BG that it wasn't added until 1.8 fug
