favorite area quest storylines?
gotmilk0112 replied to theodora's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
There's zone story lines in vanilla? I never really noticed, outside of the handful of really long chain quests. Like, when I think of Westfall and the quests there....none of them are really related to each other. There's the Defias quest chain, but outside of that, all of the quests are self-contained, and don't really have much story to them. That's one of the few things that retail does better: leveling zones actually have cohesive story lines, and a lot of the quests are related to each other. It's not just random quests to collect 10 bear asses, it's a clearly connected series of quests to collect 10 bear asses that have story tying them together. -
Training Costs and other issues
gotmilk0112 replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Don't train every single spell. Only train things that you *NEED* while leveling. Especially if it's your first character. And there are lots of spells that you only need to train rank1, like Frost Nova, Resurrection spells, Overpower, Cleave, etc. -
Cleaver is good for arms, Lasher is good for Fury.

What is wrong with multiboxing?
gotmilk0112 replied to Grizlock's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
People like to say this, but in my experiences with multiboxing, it's not true. ESPECIALLY on a 1x rate vanilla server. When I multiboxed on Feenix TBC, which had 14x EXP rates, almost every single person I passed by stopped and stared at me, seemingly surprised to see 5 shamans walking around together. Myself, I very, very rarely came across other multiboxers. I only remember seeing two. Even though boxing was 100% allowed (except in pvp), almost nobody was doing it. So no, allowing multiboxing will not cause everyone to start multiboxing, as you claim. But yeah, it is pretty unfair, given that it doesn't cost anything, so anyone could easily box 5 accounts and farm things faster than a normal player. How? Yeah, you can farm things faster with multiboxing, but almost nobody multiboxes, so that "speeding up inflation" is going to be wholly unnoticeable. -

You do realize that classes are not balanced while leveling, right? Cry some more. This is not an exploit, it's blizzlike. If it triggers you so hard, wait until the server is patch 1.9 and then you won't have to deal with it anymore. -

Lupos does not deal "three times as much" damage as a normal wolf. All his shadow damage does is ignore armor, so that should be a 20-40% damage increase over a normal wolf, not 200% And even then, it's just his normal melee that is Shadow, so Bite still deals normal damage. -
Multiboxing is against the rules, you dingdong.

Yes, weapon skill like that affects both 1h and 2h weapons. Just like how the Warrior weapon specialization just says "axes" or "swords" or "maces", but it works for both 1h and 2h weapons. There are no stats for "+x to two-handed axes" or "+x to two-handed swords", only "+x to axes", "+x to maces", etc.

Yeah, limited stock items SHOULD still show up on the vendor, just faded out and unpurchasable. I know the ice reflector exists on Darrowshire.

How does one make money with Engineering, if possible? For the moment, I've just been selling Thorium Shells on the AH for a decent bit of profit; making 10 stacks for about 4g of mats, then selling them for 60 to 80 silver a stack, making about 5.5g to 8g back. Not much profit, but considering that it's just buying things off the AH then crafting and re-selling, it's something.

Yeah, healing druids are pretty sparse in raids, I find. My guild only has one, and he just gets showered in gear because he's the only one who can use the tier stuff. :p

Because it's not an exploit, you dingus. It wasn't nerfed until patch 1.9 -
So putting main and alt into a party, setting FFA, putting them both in the satyr area, killing things on alt, then switching to main to loot every rune drop? Seems like a pretty obnoxious hassle. And Dark Rune drops in Scholo seem pretty rare. Usually only 1 or 2 drops per run. And you always have that shithead mage or even warlock, rolling need on them. And that instance in general is fucking obnoxious to heal.

On Darrowshire it does shadow damage. Anathema just patched to 1.9, so it's likely nerfed to normal physical damage on that server only.

Stop feeding the troll you dinguses.

They're BoP. You have to farm them on your main. And since dark runes are practically nonexistent on the AH, I have no other choice, outside of Night Dragon's Breath, of which I already have over 90 of those. Since my guild only raids mon/tues/wed, that leaves thur/fri/sat/sun to respec and farm for runes. With about 3 hours of farming, I managed to get 16 of them. The place is so heavily farmed though, and the drop rate is atrocious. On average, I'd get one rune every 25-35 kills.

So the number of posts you have on the forum dictates how good you are at the game? man, I must be an uber legendary guru of vanilla WoW and yet you're still here, shitposting on the forums rofl

Adding nodes to Gatherher is not for "trying to find 200 nodes". It shows you where all of the spawns are so that, instead of wandering aimlessly around the zone, you can make a path through the spawn locations. It's the same concept as camping a respawn point for a specific rare or quest mob. You take note of where it spawns, so that you know where to go, instead of wandering around not knowing where to find it.
