Some concerns and minor criticism toward server

I hope this can be reasonable and could be possible reason of population drowning a bit.

 

1- Droprate of Junk items seems bit high and will / does develop inflation affecting mostly Tailoring,Cooking,Fishing values (their cost is low for this reason and useless).

 

2- Ores and Veins spawn too high upside and within Caves (everywhere) , mostly that happen after server Shut Down or Restart.

(Causing inflation and reducing the value of Mining/Blacksmithing which is bad on current situation). "not sure about skinning and herb".

 

3- Mobs flee in Caves is very problematic and causing lot wipes, asspulls , unable to complete q's etc. (people get annoyed from this).

 

4- Stability , very often past week we see Lags , random Disconnects , boats client crush error and Valkyrie website down . (this is also impacting negative attitude toward many especially toward new members).

 

5- Quest scripts and Mobs scripts , majority of them are default completing . No challenge via quest giver, no special action required , no special speech by mobs or "Roleplay" activity like people are used in Retail or Nostalrius .

(Example is Missing Diplomat).

 

6- Friendly Stealth NPC's (Example in Ashenvale) are meant to help you and assist you with nearby Enemy's , instead they just sit there and do nothing.

 

7- Lack of Advertisements for this server. (We need some people attraction and lovely Server Youtube Videos etc organize by Admins).

Perhaps i missing some other issues but i hope this will give some light and nobody get offend by this criticism.

Run away script is by far the number one buzz killer in-game.

 

Besides that I notice a lot of things run rather well, better than nost in many departments (escorts for example)

 

The stability this past week has definitely been a turn off for a few people. I know 3 people in my friends group that were trying to make accounts this past week while the server was down and now I think they are just playing destiny instead. 

 

Advertising is HUGE. I seen a thread on reddit the other day asking about vanilla servers and with plenty of comments not a single one mentioned this server. I think someone from Elysium should be present in those areas. However, a big part of advertisement is the community itself. I don't believe we do enough to help the cause. People should be mentioning the server, liking the facebook page, and perhaps stop talking about how crestfall is going to kill this server.

Server not found

Firefox can’t find the server at report.valkyrie-wow.org.

    Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com
    If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.

Wanted to chime in with ya since I can relate.

 

The disconnects lately have been getting a bit over zealous, it’s now common place, multiple times a gaming session.    Also Lag is creeping in more and more. I find that it can be specific to an area as well. 1k and Tanris being the worst experiences I had with lag.  I could head to say Hinter lands and while there is still slight lag but feel an improvement. 

 

Generally, what happens is ping will go from 121 (understand why it can’t be hosted in U.S) to 2500+  Action presses can have a 2-15 second delay as can chat.   Other times you pull, DC in the middle of a fight and you log back in and find yourself dead (again). I’ll be cruising along at 50% and instantly die without warning in PVP. No automations, no signs of taking damage, just insta death.  I hope that gets ironed out real soon as that’s a critical foundation item.

 

Outside of that.

 

Named/Rare mobs some don’t have loot tables.  Named/Rare Mobs DPS is normally a little stronger as intended but I’ve been 1 shot more than a handful of times  while leveling to 46 so far by Named/Rare mobs.

 

Rogue Vanish removes Hunter’s Mark, it wasn’t like that in vanilla

I joined the server because apparently it was quite stable and people almost never disconnected. It was like that for me the first week, now I've seen more than one roleback mass server disconnect, which has NEVER happened to me in retail WoW or any private server before, including Nost. My ping has consistently been higher as well. Good connection is no longer a reason for people to try out the server. Idk what happened.

That is not true at all, Kronos have massive Disconnects and Rollbacks , Nostalrius at begining every 10 minutes had Rollbacks , Feenix is popular for 1 Hour rollback and constant server crush.

 

Only in Retail this doesn't happen but not in Private Servers.

lol nost even at the end had a rollback at probably once a week.
