Obxolicious 1 Report post Posted September 30, 2016 Is growl supposed to be causing so much aggro? I'm only level 28, but even since level 10 my pet has been able to growl a target and even if it isn't attacking that target, it's usually enough aggro for my pet to hold that mob for 5 or so seconds while I kill it before it even switches to me. I've only leveled a hunter one other time on a different server but I remember having to be careful about DPSing a mob even if my pet was attacking / growling it so I didn't pull aggro. But maybe growl wasn't working as intended there?
Chunass 14 Report post Posted September 30, 2016 It definitely has way too much aggro. I used my pet to tank dungeon bosses through all my leveling and I couldn't even really pull aggro from my pet until lvl 50+.
Tamanous 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2016 I suggest toggling it off after it hits once especially if you are BM. The pet holds enough aggro for the entire fight minus late game MM spec. It is waste of focus. In fact I currently chain single mob fights with my pet leading off without even using Growl. I loot last kill and attack when my pet hits first with Bite and Claw only turned on. The front load damage holds aggro nearly always for normal mobs and no focus wasted on a single Growl. I'll toggle Growl on when pulling several targets and turn claw off. Don't get too reliant on chain using Growl out of laziness if BM. You lose a ton of dps. The Growl aggro has been rather high on more than one vanilla server.
killerduki 54 Report post Posted October 6, 2016 (edited) This is very annoying thing , i even ask Hunters to remove that Taunt/Growl or whatever it call. Pet is doing too much aggro i can't even take it back from him no matter what, even when he is 10 levels lower. Feels like he can handle 10k ignite dps Edited October 6, 2016 by killerduki

Obxolicious 1 Report post Posted October 6, 2016 So I installed a threat meter, KTM. I'm doing some tests in Desolace (32 hunter), with rank 4 growl it should be doing 170 threat. I'm building up 300-400 threat on a mob before using my pet on a mob. With just one growl (170 threat) my pet is able to pull the mob off of me.
