Fix PvP on Elysium or it will die guaranteed

All we see is Toxic by CF Agents spilling negative moral against Elysium

 

I suspected something like that as well, I must say.

 

Everyone who posted in this topic was present on Valkyrie since 2010-2012 except the topic starter, when there was no Nostalrius or Kronos or Crestfall. I know them all in game, all who posted here are either ppl who made r12 - r14  HERE or were very successful in endgame pve content. (Including Earth who's trolling everyone always, because Nost opened in the moment when he was progressing through ranks here, so standing was ruined.) But discord is a jungle right now, that's true.

 

And most of these people want the thing that made their ranking unfairly convenient... Okay - "possible". Call it whatever you want.

The point being: they want things that made it easier back, so they would not have to organize and work as much for the same amount of rewards.

And btw I only made r11 once on my shammy - the week after I've stopped breaking the standing. But yeah - my progress was possible because of those "temporary adjustments" too.

As well as it was more easily monitored and prevented because of them. Making the system transparent equals making it easier to manipulate.

Which some people will always try to do because they want their epix bad and don't want to waste their time to get those the right way.

Or because they honestly think, that everybody comes to a blizzlike server to get things easily, and that this will really make it better and attract new players.

Well, I won't discard this possibility completely, even though for me it's really hard to believe in it honestly.

It's easy to form such opinion when you try to break other ppl efforts and do not attempt to finish ranking yourself (although I know you could do it, if you tried). During the week I made rank 14, I had to not only hold standing 1, but I had to add 17 characters to the standing from lvls 19-60 and that's not everything we did back then. So much for unfairly convenience.

 

I don't have anything against widening the standing as long as you do that by ingame activity and not by asking admins to tweak the system so you would not have to do that at all.

And right now you're turning the discussion from that point that I'm making over and over and over again into another direction for some reason.

Wanna know my opinion? If they wanted to start serious pvp, they would have already done it by now.

I don't know about you, but I don't see anyone gathering low-level battlegrounds these days. In fact, the only reason why I won't do it myself is that I'm currently trying to waste less time on the game.

So I have a conflict of interests here, but one can only guess what's stopping all the serious PvPers from doing that - the people that want battlegrounds and ranks to happen so much.

I'd say nobody really wants it to happen. And I'm kind of fine with it.

When you don't have to take it all too closely, it clears your head, you know - gives the ability to see the bigger picture.

Valkyrie have survived with 60 BGs only. Elysium will survive as well. It's not the only way, but it will have to - in case if no one will try to break the mold.

At the moment ranking on horde is фекал easy (Except perhaps for standing 1-2 where Firemeow and Hardcore are). If you check realmplayers you see what honor the people are below these two players. Its nothing.

 

On the other side, alliance, you spend countless of hours and land in lets say standing 5-8 which gives you bracket 6 RP. Its nothing. People dont want to continue if only ONE PERSON can actually rank.

You cannot have a pure-blizzlike system with NO PLAYERS. It does not work.

 

At the moment it is EXTREMELY hard to even rank above 9 since more or less only one person is in bracket 1 and so on.

 

Ah... What the hell am I even talking about? This person clearly doesn't understand how the vanilla honor system works and why.

It works perfectly - just not the way he wants it to.

At least people have choices.

 

What makes this server still good is the Challenging and hard way to achieve your Rank 14.

You have some serious problems with remembering your opponent's position and with basic logic. It was never my technique to create an artificial standing. And I have no idea what is that "unfair advantage from cooperation" you're talking about. Explain if you don't mind? Judging by your tone it's exactly what I was doing for years while getting r10 four times in a row on my three characters back at Valkyrie playing battlegrounds in random groups against alliance r14 farming premades.

 

Back to the point. I'm offering only one tecnique and you're turning the discussion away from it over and over again - intentionally or not.

START. DOING. THINGS. IN GAME.

Artificial standing can be a part of it or not. Either way it's still better than pointless whining in my opinion.

Yeah, around of you all have problems with their logic, i remember. I did not say "you use it", but "you offer it".  What it was  - "widen the standing by PvPing on more characters"?  

 

Now we can finish another topic about dead pvp at dying Elysium and wait for the next. Low level bg already long time dead and it's much worse for the server than all your problems at level 60.
