EvR 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 Hey whats up guys! I am New to the Elysium server. I did play on Nostalrius for a little while however. Anyway, Yesterday i checked out the stress test and i made a little video about all the epic world PvP. I am extremely hyped to no-life on this server haha. I got however one question. What happens if accounts on Elysium get Hacked? Will they restore your character and everything? (Since there is no authenticator i mean) if you're interested in the video i made, please take a look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0K8zjD59V8k and hopefully see you in Azeroth very soon! Take care! Erik
Shayss 43 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 What happens if accounts on Elysium get Hacked? Will they restore your character and everything? I can almost 100% guarantee you they won't do a thing other than Ban the hacked account. This is because, and I quote "Security of account is player responsibility". So have a good PW, don't go to some dodgy sites, don't click strange links AND DO NOT under any circumstances respond to "ElyziumGMstaff: Hello, you are going to be banned for exploiting. Log in <InsertShitChinaAddressHere> to veryfy that this is you playing!"
Pottu 290 Report post Posted November 28, 2016 Account security is the responsibility of the player. Since we have no method of strong identity verification, as that requires a credit card, we can only hope that the player themselves take good care of their account security. Some tips: 1. Use a unique account name and password combination, not the same one you've used at other private servers. At least change the password. 2. Don't download add-ons from sketchy websites. 3. Do not share your account details with anyone - even a guild mate or a friend: "Just a prank bro, I sold your stuff, tell them you got hacked, they'll restore everything" <- no we won't. 4. Elysium staff will NEVER ask for your password. If a GM needs to contact you for whatever reason, they will do so by whisper and you will see the GM tag in front of their name. 5. If you download a hacking tool, expect to get a keylogger with it. 6. Regularly run antivirus and malware scanners and keep them updated. WoW accounts do not really get hacked - actual hacking is extremely rare. Usually what happens is that a database from a private server is sold or leaked and then malicious people use the account name & password combinations at every other private server. Or a guy makes a doctored Youtube video showing a method of hacking without getting caught and links to his cool new toy, that actually is just a keylogger, or, if you're really lucky, also mails your gold to them.

TL;DR version: Don't be a potato and you won't get hacked. Enjoy.
