then last week he comes around and says he's happy that the new server is being delayed (after there was a backlash against him ofc for his previous statement on the issue)

It's not in our roadmap to open a dedicated server for a specific GMT population.  I don't think there is a legit way to keep botters from playing, other than just ban them as they're discovered. You can't say "please don't allow Chinese people to play". That alone is pretty racist. Banning gold sellers and botters as they get discovered is all there is. When a game is free to make an account and play, gold selling farmers are going to "Horde" right in. (pun intended) Just move along and report what you know is reportable.

Chinese love buying gold too, and it's easier for them since they share the same language and currency. Seeing as how many accounts were banned for gold trading before the shutdown, I highly doubt it will ever stop.

But that's the thing though. It's not an "online" culture, it's a very real culture and restricting legit players from Asia from playing just because there are a few bad eggs is ultimately racist.

You don't see us banning other cultures and and countries simply because some people of that decent are misbehaving and breaking the rules.

I hate the bad aspects of the chinese online culture. They have been selling in-game currency in MMOs for 15 years, along with selling accounts and whatnot. They are notorious for this. You see people complaining about filipino gold farmers? What about Italian gold farmers? I hear those damn Sicilian gold farmers do nothing but sit on lotus spawns eating their fettuccine and sipping their wine.

 

It's overwhelmingly Chinese people that are exploiting the economy because of their online culture where it is common to make money from online games. We should punish them. We should reward the good chinese players that help us weed out the exploiting chinese and just try to play the game.
