Are the old servers worth playing?

I'm having trouble committing to a character on the old PVE or PVP because Im planning on rolling on the fresh server and dont want to get burnt out. Is anyone else having this problem? Of course its worth it for people with toons already there and people who plan on playing on those servers for good but what abot us fresh folks? Or am I alone on this?

It depends on what you're looking for in a server. There are a lot of posts and videos around where people walk you through some of the things you should consider when picking a server. Here's one I found pretty quickly: https://youtu.be/pjWYpHoisUw?t=11

 

Can you wait until January? Do you want to play NOW? Do you want to play on an established server with an existing community or do you want to be part of a new one? PvP or PvE? How far along do you want the server's progression to be? Give these some thought.

We have to consider one thing: we call PvE server an old server, but in fact, this is not at all. It's almost a new server considering the patchs timeline, i know plenty of ppl wants a pvp server, but for someone who wishes to go on a pve server, he's gonna play on a "fresh" server, almost everything is to discover, you just missed Dire Maul and Alterac release, that's all. When they announced the shutdown, PvE had 4/5 months. Think about it.

 

 

Edit: You missed Kazzak and Azuregos release too, but it doesn't mean that you won't be able to kill them at all, in Vanilla, whatever patch you are, all raids/dungeons are useful.

If you plan on playing the fresh server, get the heck off the nost realms and let others who wanna play get on I mean what exactly are you going to do when fresh comes out? Completely abandoned the nost chars? Lol

 

Yup, exactly. I plan to abandon my Nost characters when the Fresh server comes out but until then I'll be bogging down the queue with my newbie characters. If you Nost perma stayers want us gone then you guys shoulda pushed Elysium team to release the fresh at the same time way back but then your server would be dead.

The old Servers are like a chic that has been "hanging out" with her coworkers at night named Tyrone and Jamal while you babysit her son and phone bank for Bernie.

 

The Black Lotus Mafia to camp every single herb node, and camp all of the Devilsaur spawns.

 

All of the Auction House niches have been filled.

 

The 60's have the content on farm and will spend their time ganking, endlessly all of the new players. You are nothing but content and trash mobs to them.

 

Meanwhile, the fresh server all the good names will be available.

You will be able to build an amazing community by leveling with people on the server together and building alliances and enemies at the same time instead of having some player named Xing and Xao among the horde of locusts stealing every node.

 The fresh server will be amazing.

 

The old server is like trying to roll a hotdog down a bowling alley because Jamal and Xing Pao got there first.

No amount of "pushing" is going to make the admins suddenly decide to release the server a month early.

Who's acting like a spoiled brat? I'm playing on the Nost servers patiently waiting for the fresh one. I just said if some of the old Nost guys didn't like having us freshies to be hanging out in the meantime they should have pushed the Elysium guys way back towards a fresh at the same time. I've actually defended multiple times the fresh server being delayed because I saw the same thing the Devs posted about later on as well that it was an attempt to give the Nost servers time to rebuild and get some fresh meat. that some will stick around when the freshie comes out.

 

Nothing entitled in my comment at all unlike the one I was replying to of an old Nost player whining we were bogging down the server they felt was their's. Nost players should feel lucky they even got anything back.

Let's not fight amongst friends... everyone is just as entitled to play on the existing servers as the next person. What if they like it and stay? What if an old player gets bored and doesn't log on, or goes to the new server to start over? Who are you to tell someone to not get in line?

 

Just check it out, the pve server is still very fresh and you can't get ganked by 60's. If you really want to be on a pvp server you either have to go for a somewhat older server or wait for the fresh one.

 

Hey, I'll check out the fresh one for sure, or am I not allowed to because I'll block the queue for those that are super serious to log on to that server?

If you plan on playing, just on the new servers, then wait. Enjoy your holidays and rest before the mad rush comes. ALTHOUGH, the old servers have a ton of history and are amazing.

 

If it is causing stress, then just wait, although you could sharpen your skills / decide what you want while waiting.

If theres no fresh server is totaly ok to have fun while waiting even if that character will be deleted just after.

The fun part in vanilla, at least for me, is also the lvling,
