Everyone agrees .stopxp command is a good idea

Recommended Posts

people did it before in retail yamish...bop quest rewards have no lvl req. Like i said ive seen aeons ago someone having a maraudon hat/bow on a lvl 19. Idk how he got the GM to send them to to their mailbox but it was taken away like a week after

The way he did it he told me he had 2 hunters with very similar names; he deleted the high lvl one, but then petitioned to restore him or his gear, and somehow the GM mustve messed up and sent the gear over to his 19. Of course this wont happen with GMs here since you cant really trick them like this. Also people did this in WOTLK/cata with satchels as well

Retail/Casual players don't understand this.  The things that made vanilla/BC so great was the lack of commodities.

When you made a twink you planned it out, the moment you could enter a dungeon that you need items from you started the grind with a 60/70 or with friends.  If it was grinding out revelosh shoulders for perfect +damage or only coming in for boss kills or trying to limit kills for exp when doing a long chain for a specific piece for a set.  You got all of your BIS and alt BIS gear for all 3 specs before you hit 19,29,39 etc..

I hate to make the "superdooper sektret club" speech but, this shit keeps casual and people who don't put effort in this game in the ground.  Not to mention, i would like to see this server remain as close to vanilla as entirely possible and they are doing a great job so far.

You arbitrarily made up a definition of twinking, and you're just trolling on these forums because other people don't agree with your opinion.

The term "twink" came into being decades before EQ (or WoW) even existed. What makes your definition for the word more correct than the older definition of an effeminate gay man or the newer definition of decking out characters with gear? Definitions change over time.

This game is wow. The term for twink in wow is how it has been stated. The fact that the term is different in EQ is completely and absolutely pointless. But the reason you continue to bring it up is so you can attempt to feel superior to us with your "knowledge" and/or were butthurt back in vanilla days and still have a chip on your shoulder because we stole the term. Deal with it. The definition works just fine as is. Arguing it makes you just look dumb.

twink without .stopcry: open aowow, look @ quests, do research, level character, get items
twink with .stopcry: open aowow, look @ quests, do research, level character, get items

end result differences: wwhy is this even an issue?

made a silly presumption about me playing vanilla wow..which i havent until now..

So you're arguing about a definition in a game that effectively you know nothing about until now? Well I played a twink in vanilla and that's what we called them. So lets see which argument holds water here.

All I am arguing is whether the English language allows for the meanings of words to change based on changes to society and circumstance. I am saying that anecdotally yes they can. It seems like you are arguing against that. If my guess is correct then good luck with that. If not then what exactly is the point you're trying to make?

If you missed it let me reiterate. In the game called World of Warcraft, the concept of twinking is one where you take a lower than max level character and through planned circumstance or extra cost provide the opportunity for the character to be overly geared compared to comparably geared characters of the same level. In doing so you give the character unusually higher power and survivability in which to be able to have an advantage in a battleground or pvp situation.

http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Twink

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=twink&page=3 (3 definitions down)

I don't care what YOU call a twink or how you think it fits your definition. We, our experience, and our sources are telling you that in wow (I don't care about other mmos) a twink is defined as the above. Disagree with me? Then PROVE ME WRONG.
