Jubi 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2017 Hey, people, what's the point of the forums, really? I shared my issue on 24th of december and still have no answer. Don't I deserve an answer at least? My character is missing and the fault, clearly, is not mine. I want to get an asnwer what happened. Who and when entered my account and did he delete my character. I have spent months and months lvling and gearing. If you think it is cool someone to fu ck up your hero and than no one from the staff to reply you, it is not. Even Blizzard restore characters! I have NEVER been a victim before, which leads me to the conclusion that someone else have leaked my personal information. Now, since that is the case, I want to get answers. Who, when, how. As I said, if Blizzard restore characters, can't see why Elysium would not. Expecially when the fault ain't mine. At least I in my right to get an answer from the staff. Jubi 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2017 Also, if there is an option to retrieve your stolen account, there should be an option to restore deleted ( from a hacker ) character. Otherwise it is totally illogical. It seems that it is better for your account to be stolen, than for your character to be deleted by a hacker. Nelythia 44 Report post Posted January 4, 2017 You can retrieve your stolen account in regards to the token transfer. If someone else used your account/token to transfer the account to elysium and thus you can't yourself anymore, they will assist. Restoring characters is theoretically possible, but they won't do it. I dont know why this topic is still a thing, they have said multiple times they wont, and there is a logical reason for them to stick with it. They do not have the time. Its not a simple backup of your character, its not a button they have to click. Even if you never shared your account, you used the same credentials on multiple forums and/or servers. Account security is your responsibility and proven by the fact you were hacked, it is not "fine enough". All you can do is level again. Jubi 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2017 Everytime you log off, an automatic saving of your character occurs, which means they do can restore it, without taking much difficulties. At least getting a charcater at 60 level is fine to me. I have payed my duties, you know. Luckily for me, I was only lvl 23 and was planning to start on the new server anyway. What can I tell you.... free game means free from any accountability to your player base. Pretty crappy response to say it is his "Fault" that there was a database leak which led to the hacking/theft/deletion of his toon. Fairly certain that he would not know that someone would sell / trade / whatever with the data from the other server. Simple mistake on his part to not potentially change account information, if in fact he did not, maybe... certainly not his fault though. Sometimes a little empathy can go a longer way than flat out telling someone no, their wrong, and it's all their fault... Jubi.... It sucks, people steal, delete, hack, and do crap to try and make a quick buck or whatever. Bottom line is that they won't be able to restore your toon. It is kind of the risk involved with this. I recommend setting your Pword to something real stout with special characters and such to make it more difficult + two-part authentication if you can. 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Glenzig 34 Report post Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) He wasn't the one who deleted the character, but he does share some responsibility for what happened. Elysium wasn't hacked, another server was. As soon as Elysium found out, they made several announcements about it, and warned people to change their passwords. But, before any of that ever even happened, if he played on Nost he should have known better. The same thing happened during Nost 1.0. Lots of people lost their accounts to bans, and lost their characters to deletion. The ToU for this server suggests strongly that you use a totally unique username and password for your accounts. It also informs the user that any resultant ban due to account hacking will be the sole responsibility of the user, not the server staff. In other words, if you continue to use the same exact account credentials that you used on other servers, don't come complaining about it and demand your characters back. It's your own fault. There was nothing anyone else could have done to prevent this. You chose your account username and password. Sugarcoating it does no favors for anyone.
