Anyone ever got "unbanned"?

I honestly have no idea why my account was "closed" and no longer available. I have sent messages to a couple of moderators on here (with no replies). So has anyone EVER got unbanned from Nostalrius? I would love to continue playing with the friends I convinced to come with me, but if I can't get back on I doubt they will stay either.

How did you contact with Admins/moderators? Because I can't... I am sure that we all are in the same фекал. I got banned like 5-6 hours ago and if it wasn't for my guild master I wouldn't know why. These f**king gold spammers have info from old servers somehow, and spam through your character. Now there is a big misunderstanding and people are getting banned for no real reason. I was kicked out of the guild and when I asked why the GM gave me a screenshot of my character spamming another guy with gold selling site info.... Yet I don't understand why no one is telling you what is happening. Like I got banned while I was ingame and no one warned me or something, like telling me what I did wrong at least. I know that all the people working on the project as volunteers, but when you do something, do it how it is supposed to be done, or do not do it at all. I am pretty mad at the moment, but at least my characters are not that old. I know that there are and will be people that will suffer much more. I know that no one will give a single **** about it, because I see what is the attitude towards the players, but I am leaving this place and I am taking my buddies with me. I hope the future players never experience the same thing as we do. 

Also, staff should consider some changes, like a normal f**king tool for changing password for example???? Even I can do that.... When I found out that my account might be hacked I couldn't change my password... I had to use the "forgotten password" tool to do so.. Really, Elysium/Nostalrius? Please put more options in this so called "Control Panel".

Another thing: Please when you ban someone, GIVE HIM SOME INFO AT LEAST! There is no info anywhere with a reason or anything. Anyone can be banned basically NOTHING. Do you even research or talk with players before you decide to suspend their accounts for unknown amount of time? Yeah, I don't even know if I am banned for 24h, a month or forever. My account is suspended and that's all. 
 

Also I can't contact with anyone as I said in the beginning. I created a new account just to open a ticket and try to contact with someone so he can tell me where the f**k I can find someone that can really help me and waited for hours. Why don't they just respond me? I've used the ticket system before and I didn't have to wait for more than 30 mins and suddenly no one can answer me for 2 hours where I can contact with admins/mods? 

There is not a single link on the server's home page to this forum. Making people even more nervous and frustrated when trying to fix their stuff.. It feels like they are ignoring the situation and I know that they don't.

This sort of thing happened alot on retail. Being that this is FAR LESS secure I would expect it that much more. I just got banned overnight with no reason given and I seriously wish I could get back on.

I also had my account closed overnight, I had no issues i was grinding quest and had just hit 24, logged off to spend time with family work on classes. Came back on to find my account had been closed. I put a appeal in and not sure what happens now. I never got a notification or warning. So like you i am stuck unsure of what happen. I am not complaining though i understand this is a volunteer based service that is fantastic. I just miss having my preist i worked so hard on.  Knowing why would make half concern go away.

I agree Lazyshot. I am going to make another account I guess because I got 3 people I supervise at work to play with me here and now they are wondering what happened. I explained to them but I would rather them not lose interest if I am not there to help. I really hope that the ban is lifted and I can go back to business as usual though. Like you I put alot of time into my hunter and would love to continue where I left off. I just want a reason why.

Firstly, you can contact an admin by making a post here https://forum.elysium-project.org/forum/320-contact-the-administration/

As for when they ban someone they are not required to tell you anything. You can read it yourself what they say about this matter. https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/28545-ban-appeal-information/

As for not being able to contact anyone you have to realize the staff here are here by self motivation and volunteering their time. Sure there may be some times when you wont get a response for a while and that is due to either high amount of tickets or there may be no one around at the time to handle your ticket.

Are you making sure to post your appeals in the correct section of the forums? I know OP posted his in the wrong section. Don't know if this was corrected or not. If you post your appeal in the wrong section you will not get a response. Post all appeals to the Ban Appeals subforum.

3000 people have posted in Ban-appeals so we can assume that is 3000 accounts/players who have been banned, surely some are for proper reasons but jesus.. Can someone tell someone something? Any kind of word of notice that they're at least acknowledging something is up?

That's posts, that's not the correct number of actual appeals.  As of my post, there are 955 appeals.  

I've had an appeal for 3 days that hasn't been answered.  I got banned on Monday~Tuesday; unbanned after putting in an appeal because it was part of some false negative flagging, changed my password and was able to get in; banned again on Friday with no reason given, put in an appeal immediately, and am still waiting on any kind of response.

I have made a new character since and have been leveling it.  My previous was 39, almost 40.  I've started over, and am at 20 currently, because I've seen some less than inspiring responses from GMs where they tell people they are gold sellers and they will remain banned (but the appeals in at least half Mandarin/Cantonese they don't give copy paste response to for some reason).

Well all I know is that massive amount of accounts are being hacked and used for gold selling/advertising. And I don't know if the staff are using anit-cheat system or w/e, but a lot of accounts are being banned for no reason. This is what I can help you with. I was just lucky to find out about that, because yesterday I saw my warrior was kicked out from the guild, so I asked the guild master what it was about. So he told me he received a screenshot from a random dude where you can see my character whispering someone with one of those gold selling advertises. I tried to contact with a GM/mod/admin, but my account got suspended before that. I just don't understand why nobody warned me from the GM that I am doing something wrong or anything you know.. This is a big issue.. I know that GMs are volunteers and everything, but when you do something at least do it the right way man, or do not do it at all... It's really easy for those who are not banned to say that they are not getting paid so everything is fine, but people are putting a lot of time into this фекал and you know that. Put yourself in our place by being banned without warning and reason, then we can talk about it. For me, this probably will be the end here, but at least I have not played for so long. I am sure there are people who are in Nostalrius for longer and are getting ваууed up aswell. It ain't cool... I hope they change something not only, because of the veterans, but also for the new players who don't know what they are getting into..

I just got banned.. My question is. How do I know if i've been sending out whispers with that 3 x W gold farm ... ...  And how does it work? I was banned while playing. I dont see any possibility how someone can send whispers from ur account while playing.

Well, you will never find out mate unless they decide to tell you. This sucks I know. I was just happy to find that out. Also it doesn't mean you were sending whispers while you were playing, It may happen while you have been offline you know. You just happened to be online while they banned you without warning.

Well, one of my co workers got banned last week without him doin anything illegal. He got the explaination that his accound was permanently banned and would not be reviewed again. Obviously, since he didnt do anything, he just rage quitted nost. But it sucks, cause they are not just ruining the game for that one player. We were 8 friends starting to play together, and after he got banned 3 more quitted. 

Really miss Vanilla, but it should be managed like blizzard and not like this.

I was away for a few days, just to come back to see I am banned. No idea when, nor why. Waiting for a response with my fingers crossed that my hero still has his items and that I will get my account back. *hopes*

Turns out I am being accused of buying gold. No proof given, just "You bought gold" as the message from the GM. Oh well. I didn't but it doesn't matter because they said it is now closed and no way to reopen. Not like the servers will last long this time anyway since they were sued before by Blizzard for intellectual property and had to take the servers down or pay up. Now they brought the servers back online and plan to make another one? Yeah... like that won't draw attention. Good luck to all! It is a good idea for nostalgic purposes, but with a team that seems rather snobby when it comes to GM related/ban issues I don't see people staying around for a long time.

First off Ricockulous, the servers are held in a different country now so they can't be sued.

Secondly I would say from personal experience around 99% of players who do Ban Appeals actually did do something wrong, and this is WHY they got banned, and WHY they were flagged. I've yet to play a game in the past 15 years where I got randomly banned for "nothing" and it wasn't "my fault".

Perhaps you didn't buy any gold, maybe you used the same password from other WoW servers which could have been compromised and a hacker got into your account and started to use it to sell gold with.

Regardless this is your responsibility, you should use a unique password everywhere.

im still waiting the outcome of mine  but with only 25 hours played 4 gold to my name and no clue why my account was closed other than the possibility of the same user name and passwords from other servers  i do se what i could have done wrong to be banned
