How to use 2-step Authentication w/o having a phone

For those who do not have a smart phone and want to protect your account from hackers. You can also put this on a USB device if you play on multiple computers or just use your computer.

• Download https://winauth.com/
• After you download it Click "Add"
• Choose "Authenticator" not a specific game.
• Enter your QV code from your e-mail you'll generate from the Control Panel on the main website.
• Click the link in your e-mail for the place to enter your 6 digit code you'll generate from your authenticator.
• Once you click "Verify Authenticator" you'll get your 6 digit code.
• Once entered your Authenticator will be linked, enjoy.

You can also set a password on your Authenticator on your personal computer if you're worried about siblings or anyone else.

Man, come on, if you get keylogger you probably will lose it anyway with serial number. Whole idea of 2FA is keeping app on separate device. Tablets and smartphones are really cheap, you can buy like for 100 bucks some acer phone or something like this, put google auth and secure your email as well. I have 8 or 9 different codes in my google auth.

There are lots of people who do not use smart phones, and many hacks are not from keyloggers but using your information on a different website. I can easily find a few things out about someone and get an archive of their old passwords through old data dumps, and this is how people usually lose their accounts, not from a keylogger. This is an alternative for those who want two-step authentication but don't have a smart phone so let's not be so small minded by assuming everyone is in the same situation as you or can/will go buy a smart phone when they don't need one.

You can also use the free GAuth Authenticator extension for Chrome, if you don't have a smart phone.

I'm sorry if this has been explained elsewhere. New here and getting lost in information overload, hope folk understand.

 

If I wanted to use 2FA on my iOS device, which is a good one to get? By good I mean it would be relatively idiot proof, is reliable, can use on both my desktop and laptop installs. I don't mind paying for a good app, but free okay.

Could this maybe be stickied or added to a help section of the forums? Lots of my friends want to set up 2FA but are to lazy to put it on their phone.

 

As for keylogging - lets be real, keylogging is a very small portion of the hacks, most are from other pservers selling their DB's to the gold selling websites.

How many people get keyloggers these days? More specifically, keyloggers owned by chinese gold seller companies that happen to be on the same server as you?
