yogitud2 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2017 Hello Elysium team, I am currently playing on the Rebirth with a friend. As the server will close in March, I kindly want to ask, if it would be possible to transfer the Characters? Preferably to the old NOST PVE. It does not need to be perfect. Level, Name, Profession would be almost sufficent. Replacing all gear with a basic gear would be ok. We are intensly playing wow for 2 month now. Currently lvl 43, but i think it will be 55 when rebirth ends. It would be awesome to be able to continue our wow experience here! Greetings yogi
lisamushroom 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2017 I am also from Rebirth and very sad about losing my characters I put a lot of time into over 5 years. If a character transfer is in any way possible that would be amazing. Thank you. :)
yogitud2 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2017 there were 0 paid services on The Rebirth.
yogitud2 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2017 It is not. Most Tranfers to other servers work different. You provide screenshots of all gear/professions or even login data and a staff member creates the database entry for your char from scratch. Merging different database schematics is certainly not the way it goes.
yogitud2 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2017 Well we are talking about 2 different pairs of shoes :). Migrating the huge Nost Database with thousands of players or migrating 20 people from Rebirth. Manually doing it is faster in the later case, but slower in the first.
Jakeje 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2017 Thought I'd chime in and say that TRB was a really underrated server. Back when everyone was playing on Feenix, Rebirth's scripts absolutely shat on them and the rest of the competition at the time, but unfortunately things were released far too slowly and the original owner really screwed everybody over. I think they just had a mangos stock core with hackfixes so I doubt it'd be much use to Elysium, but who knows. My condolences to you guys.
Caesarcat 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) First off until this past week I have only played on the Rebirth for almost the past two years, excluding my retail playing days of vanilla and into TBC patch. From my very limited understanding the reason Nost characters were able to transfer to the Elysium servers was because they were using the core code from Nost. I know when Nost shut down last spring we had an influx of players. Also right before the Nost shut down, TRB was doing a variable player controlled experience gain from only quest turn ins. Which worked out well for the Nost players that came to TRB. Anyways, the point I'm trying to make. In order for us to get a transfer of characters from TRB to here would take the following: 1. Muggle(server owner of TRB) gives the Elysium team TRB core code. 2. Elysium decides to use it 3. There will be a short window for transfers, probably a month max 4. This is all done before TRB shuts down and TRB deletes all accounts and characters As much as I would like that to happen, I haven't seen anything like this being discussed by the Devs in an open forum. yogitud2 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 You have some wrong assumptions there. Server Core code and Database with player data are two different things. Option 1: Player Data is migrated to Elysium and imported into their Database after being exported from TBR Database. This options requires help from TBR ownwer. Option 2: Player provide login credentials, which are used to asses Characters level, professions, items. A new Character is created by a GM on Elysium. This does not require any help from TBW owner. Primalwow is offering exactly that, but they are WOTLK/hybrid. Also all Server code (NOT the player database) will be released on Github (open source) I really hope another vanilla server allows us Rebirth players to keep our characters and join their community.

Gehere 8 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) 9 minutes ago, yogitud2 said: I dont feed Trolls Uglyaf. Get your feed elsewhere He has a point. Why should Elysium take in Rebirth characters? This WAS a continuation of the old Nostalrius Realms and the database - but are now a stand-alone community, growing daily. Yes, we know the situation you're facing, and I'm in no way authorized to make any decisions on their behalf, but honestly - right now, they're facing some real issues themselves. I'd listen to the majority of voices here, cut my losses and get into this while the servers are still fresh. With the community size here - getting back on track will not take forever. I'm a VERY casual player, and I've made level 47 in under a month. Edited January 15, 2017 by Gehere
yogitud2 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 Elysium is by no point required to take us in. I just kindly ask for it and hope for them to make that nice gesture. Also i had the same thought, that they have more pressing matters at hand currently. If they do not take us in, i can understand that. I just ask for it and hope for the best. Servers being fresh is not a big concern for me. In fact i rahter level on the old PVE server, so the starting areas are not overcrowded. Thank you for input. Im always happy to respond to an apropiate comment Gehere ;). If someone write "u wot mate" may desire to compose an answer tends to be zero.

They didnt even transfer chars from original Valkyrie to nost pvp, loyal players lost their chars who played on server when it had 50-100 online. Just leave your char and start over on one of the servers.
