Will the Que situation improve over time?

Recommended Posts

Currently having a real issue with the ques (as I'm sure many others are). I had hoped that perhaps by now they would have died down but I'm starting to wonder if it will be an ever-present problem with the Elysium PVP server. I can see the que times lessening if they produced a new server but it would need to be released quite soon or else people will be reluctant to restart the leveling process over again.

Its a real issue for me & the group of friends I play with as it is nearly impossible for us to all play at the same time. Will the que situation improve or should I go back to a different server?

I realize I'm probably beating a dead horse with this post, but I just wanted to hear the opinions of others.

The queue situation will only be solved when there is another place for those 10-20k people in queue to go play. Basically, when a second fresh server is released, that's when you'll see the queue go away, or at the very least only be around 1-2k

edit: And yeah you're right about it needing to be sooner than later. The longer people invest into the first server, the less likely they'll be to move on. Even if they don't get too high of a level many will have the mentality / attitude of "I've spent weeks in queue trying to get this character leveled, I'm not abandoning it now." So yeah, the longer it takes to bring up a 2nd server, the less likely more people will go to it.

I would say that the vast majority of the queue problem is that a large chunk of the playing slots are filled by people trying to avoid the queue and sitting afk for 10+ hours until they are ready to play again, overnight etc. If everyone logged out after they were done playing we would probably be seeing much more reasonable queue times like 30min or less. Now that being said getting everyone to cooperate at the same time is a difficult thing to do. I would say the best bet for now to fight this would be for the team to put the server on a like 3-4 hour sever reset window so that these players will get kicked out allowing room for people who want to actually be playing at the time.

This project has gained way to much attention, the fact there are 10k Queues will not go down within a few weeks, it has become the norm, people follow the crowd. If everyone is doing it and suffering then everyone else will go along because this is the popular project/server and everyone is going at the same pace because of it. There really isn't any other server with this kind of hype/popularity and population.

People will just learnt to log in hours before they want to play or sit afk in their screens which is why the only way to improve Queue times is to release a 2nd fresh server.

Hmm .. now that I que to Elysium pvp and browsing internet at the same time while waiting it seems to disconnect from the que after some time like after 10-20 mins? Have they done so that you can't leave que on the backround to wait for e.g. 2 hours -> similar thing like anti-afk in game?

That wouldn't make much sense. It's pretty common to get disconnected while in the queue. That's really all it is.

on Zeth`Kur thers around 5k players online. On Eylsium thers around 4k queue.

Even thou you have lvl 20 or even 25, its worth going to Zeth`Kur. If you on average wait 10 mis in queue before you get to play, calculate how much if a time will that consume, while you could be getting instant acces and play. Its going to be even worse in case your raiding and lose connection and all of a sudden you have to wait 30+ minutes to get back in.

The main problem is that most people are playing with friends, family or are part of a growing guild. For me, I couldn't turn my back on my fellow warriors. I'm assuming other people feel the same way and that's why the que hasn't gone down. Server transfer will answer a lot of people's problems.

I wouldn't bet on a server transfer coming any time soon.  They just closed one and now they are going to be swapping cores, from the posts it looks like most of it was already designed to be moved over or at least I hope I am inferring correctly.  The queue should sort itself out in about a month.  I remember when Feenix just came out with their new tbc server and when warsong got really popular, it took about a month for that to cool off.  The same goes for molten back before the whole melt down.
