Aveton 8 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) Quote Anathema, in common usage, is something or someone that is detested or shunned. Its other main usage comes from the New Testament and refers to a formal ecclesiastical excommunication. However, in the Old Testament, anathema referred either to something (living or inanimate) that was consecrated or something denounced as evil or accursed and set aside for sacrificial offering. It comes from the Greek: ἀνάθεμα, anatithenai, meaning "anything dedicated". Quote Anathema: 1) one that is cursed by ecclesiastical authority 2) someone or something intensely disliked or loathed —usually used as a predicate nominative 3) a ban or curse solemnly pronounced by ecclesiastical authority and accompanied by excommunication 4) the denunciation of something as accursed 5) a vigorous denunciation : curse Edited January 15, 2017 by Aveton

Robroy 2 Report post Posted January 16, 2017 Losing the Nost name was not good for the vanilla community. Nost was recognised by people who would never go near a vanilla server, whereas, with Elysium and the other new names, very few people outwith the vanilla community will recognise those names. Having the Nost name was of great benefit in getting new players into the vanilla scene. The new names including Elysium won't match the Nost name for pulling people into this version of the game.
Revo 34 Report post Posted January 16, 2017 its also weird that 1 server is named after the project itself and the others have wow lore names. 2 rather unknown i also think elysium is a weird name for such a project, it shouldve been something that feels nostalgic for wow fans. you want to create a feeling that wakens interest in the "target group" asap, but elysium rather sounds like a space ship from some sci-fi movie.

SikSan 4 Report post Posted January 17, 2017 (edited) Why there is no "who cares" option? They can call it whatever they want while we're all having access to the actual game :) Personally I like Darrowshire/Zeth'Khur-like names over Anathema/Elysium, but once again, it's totally not a deal breaker Edited January 17, 2017 by SikSan
