I came to this server alone cuz all my friends don't like vanilla. Most players i´ve come across are more or less like you, not my type of friends. I rather just be by myself. see i'm lvl 39 on zeth'kur now and i've been dodging high pop zones since lvl 30. I leveled a 60 UD Priest on Anathema without even going to STV. my Char on Zeth Kur never went into STV either.

 

You have to adapt. Go places no one else goes, have you ever been to swamps of sorrow for example? You are trying to play WoW after some shitty guide or something.

 

If you can't adapt, know when to pick fights and when not - know how to scare away few players of the opposing faction so you get your quest / grind spot - you won't make it.

WoW on a high pop server is totally different from WoW back in the day.

Well, as somebody who did play Vanilla, the experience described by the OP is very accurate.

I started playing in Dec 2005 in Server Emeriss PvP. That was during patch 1.8-1.9.

Population Ratio was 60% horde - 40% alliance.

I was alliance.

Almost every zone was a warzone. Hillsbrad Foothills in particular was especially bad. Horde raid guilds would camp the entire zone until server time 19:00ish when they started raiding. (Players in Tier1/Tier 2 camped level 35ish players for hours).

I got ganked continuously. It got to the point that I was shooting at every horde player I saw thinking "well they are going to attack me anyway so I might as well attack first".

So yeah, I'd say OP's experience is very, very much like the original game, which is pretty much what the Admins wanted to get at in the first place. I thought people here wanted to experience Real Vanilla?

I don't necessarily want to jump the the OPs defence, because I have little sympathy, but these servers are not a 'Real Vanilla' experience.  The number of players per zone is hugely different on Elysium's servers and as a result it means there is far more danger on these servers than the original Blizz servers.

Bottom line however, if you don't like it, learn to live with it, or move to the PvE server.
