Been streaming the server and had been having a decent amount of success (Nothing spectacular) Tried logging in today and the account was banned. Had wife check on her account when I was logged in last and where I was (Had not movied) and appears to have been offline for my entire 1day break. I do NOT break the TOS and streamed 99% of my game play. I have 17 gold... clearly I don't BUY gold. What rule did I break to be banned? I've seen many people say they were banned and did nothing, some didn't even log on. I posted on the Ban Appeal and have yet to get a response. Nelythia 44 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 (edited) Whether a ban is final or not depends on the actual ban reason. They'll review it once they get to your appeal. Don't bump your threads. You may bump them if you dont hear from them within 10-14 days after creating the appeal. Keep in mind that sometimes reviewing a ban can take some time too, because not every GM can review every ban situation. Also the staff is doing this on a voluntary basis, they don't get paid. Everyone offers the service in his/her freetime. Bans are not handed out if you actually followed the rules and did nothing to deserve one. Exception are the automatic bans by systems like the anti-cheat, which obviously can and will have some false positives. Yes, tons of people come crying to the forums that they were "banned for no reason", and then it is later revealed that they were cheating or exploiting or gold trafficking. Suniki, There will be people in this forum with 500 - 1000 posts who day after day will repeat the policies and repeat "they don't ban for no reason" so they assume you bought gold or tried to exploit etc etc. Copy Paste. ***From me to you****, I see beyond all that and ask a question. If you did violate something, why would you come on to the forum and say (1) I stream the game (2) here is the amount of gold I have etc Your basically jumping into the spot light in the open, and offering to open your books. I bet you would even give them logs if they asked! I cant speak for you in that regard. With the posts, I am seeing and reading over the last few weeks, and lack of feedback on these bans, It screams of serious problems in these bannings. ***From me to you****I am pretty sure in there methodology/process they are banning people without reason or cause. In the end, this is a free game and they "reserve the right" and not accountable. Yeah, the GMs are totally just going around the servers, selecting random players, and banning them for fun that's totally happening yeah I mean think about that for a second. If they were truly doing that, that would just be more work for them. More ban appeals to go through, more crying threads to delete/lock, and more time spent NOT working on other things that need their attention. This is why I find it ridiculous when people like you insist that GMs are banning people "for no reason". On top of already having seen hundreds upon hundreds of cases, of people crying that they were banned by the literally-hitler GMs, and then said GM comes in and reveals that they were buying gold. Its rare for any game staff to tell the general pop much if anything about how a player was caught and why they were banned. Thats basicly SOP ***From me to you****I am pretty sure there is no reason do ban w/o cause as it benefits nobody and the staff here volunteer their time to make vanilla wow playable to people. There is no real motive to just ban people for lulz. I hope OP had 2FA and this was an automated false positive.
