Hacked and Naked

So I've been hacked recently and all my gear, money, and items are gone. They thankfully left my characters though but just nothing to them.

I did not have the Two Step verification which has lead to my own demise. I am just curious if however I can get back any relevant quest items. I've been thankfully leveling with a friend and we've done every quest we can do together besides class related ones and would be able to vouch for me in this situation. My Character name is Omnipotence and my friends name is Vyonella on the Zeth'Kur (PVP) server.  Would truly appreciate any blessings that can be done to restore my character.

What do you mean, why would I be banned for being hacked?

I can, however, assure you that we have teamed up all the way to our current levels of 26.

When you report that you have been hacked you get banned until you enable 2FA.  You gave the gold sellers free gold once so they do that to make sure you don't do it again.

I got hacked about a week ago. I was stupid and didn't have 2fa authorization activated. I lost my gold, character was naked, etc etc. It was completely my fault and I take responsibility for that BUT it seems like whatever happened when i got hacked caused me to get caught in the ban wave algorithm. I really don't expect anything out of this, I'm just going to be buried in the rest of the ban appeals and I don't see myself getting justice. But i do want to bring visibility to the possibility of incorrect bans. Hopefully the right person sees this.

just get 2fa and all your problems ( besides servers being down frequently xD ) are gone. I recommend choosing the I.P. address option Imo

correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the only way to get hacked is to give out your password? i seem to remember back in the day of retail vanilla loads of fake emails asking for it pretending to be from blizzard. So is that what the hackers are doing here or are they actually hacking databases and getting the info that way?

You're a fool. The GM team is spread thin and they have real jobs outside of babysitting you on this realm. The GM team is more responsive on the weekends. Frustrating I know, but hang in there.

The only way to protect your account is through the use of 2FA. No other private vanilla server has this currently. Secondly, a very small list of high end quest rewards can be restored or things like carrot on a stick, etc..

 

Also, to note, the WoW client itself, up until WotLK did NOT parse capital letters in passwords, so to be truly safe, you really should use letters, symbols and numbers and while playing on our server the 2FA. Use a unique email and password for each Private server you join and do not use the same username/password on multiple servers.

I have applied also now the 2FA, will this allow me now to be helped instead of bogged down with more bad news?
