mortisxamor 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2017 So they fixed the ddos by lowering the amount of people online to 5k? Wouldn't it have been a better move to lower the amount to 6500 considering thats much closer to the average amount of players? Also how does lowering the amount of people on a server prevent ddos? it sounds more like a hardware issue....i could, of course, be wrong....somebody with more computer tech savvy could probably shed some light on the subject....
hakoon 3 Report post Posted March 5, 2017 every player online eat up bandwidth. So by lowering the population to 5k cap, it causes less stress on the total bandwidth usage therefore, more margin in case of DDoS attack. I could be wrong but that is what i do understand from it.
