All them memberberries make me warm and fuzzy inside. Grats on getting AQ out a month past the promised deadline, and grats on being at 10k COMBINED total between all realms during peak hours! I remember when the queues were 10k+ lol.

Mate, whats with all this bitterness? Some of these posts seem like you guys are personally injured by obstacles the server and its staff face. Clearly they delayed releasing AQ late specifically to piss off the player base?

 

Everyone seems to have this notion that they're lying to you just to lie to you. No one considers the other alternative - that they just can't know for certain due to all the obstacles that come into play. Specifically the AQ Release. I can't tell you how many times my team and I have personally given expected date times for sprints and not been able to reach them due to factors that none of us could have foreseen. This happens EVERYWHERE, especially when dealing with an ambitious project and multiple individuals contributing to the project.

I will, if Shenna ever decides to clear the names of the staff they drug through the dirt to try to discredit issues and make it look like they never happened. Funny how all the staff that "left" went to reddit and made posts on why they actually left. . .

Here is a question for you to ponder though, I have been a part of the private server scene for over 7 years now, and have never seen so many people "Hacked" on a single server like this one. - But your information is safe amirite?

Or how about the fact that in those 7 year I have never seen gold spam so extensive as I see here. Hmmmm. Yep nothing to see folks. There is no corruption here. Staff only speak the truth here.

Well I'll be damned. A Private server staff is not being professional. Oh wait... They aren't professionals! Private servers can never be 100% trustworthy. You would need to have a very large team of people who are trustworthy to achieve your happy dream of a perfect p-server. They can never know wheter the guy applying for the job (be it GM or Lead Developer) is completely honest with their application.

If you want a server with professional team go play retail or quit WoW.

The op must have been watching you tube or on reddit when everybody was saying the population was going to drop over time.

Elysium is the most successful server in existance and the op thinks it's strange that it's targetted by gold- sellers.

Another servers database was leaked or hacked and a lot of people played on that server and used the same log-in details on Elysium and got hacked. If they did what Elysium said and used different passwords from the start or subsequently enabled 2fa then we wouldn't have seen all these hacked accounts. People still post all their account details on the Help and Support for any hacker to see. Again this does not match with the op's conspiracy theories.

The op is a perfect example of starting with the answer and making the evidence fit it.

hahahaha, the most successful? In what way? I am pretty sure Nost was the most successful. Also, I have been on pservers for 7+ years. I do not expect perfection. I do however expect the staff to be vetted prior to getting access. Vitoli is a prime example of this. Funny how it was a "brother" to Shenna yet he/she didn't know of his past... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

 

Here is a better question for the sheep here. why is it that nost bailed out of the partnership and why LGN is gone? Hmmm, maybe because all other projects see what the fuck is going on here? I know logic is hard to grasp but please use your brain.

The sheer population of Elysium makes it a prime target for gold sellers and hackers alike. It's the same situation as Windows, Macs and viruses created. The majority of the corporate environment uses Windows so more viruses are tailored for windows since there is profit to be made. Hackers will target Elysium because there is profit to be made due to the very large population. 

Can additional safeguards be implemented by the Elysium team to prevent these account hacks from occurring? Probably. But lets not forget that they are one of the first, if not the first private server to implement 2 factor authentication (2FA) in order to actively combat the hacking situation. They already provided you the single best tool to completely prevent this from happening, 2FA, use it.

Gold spam here is wide-spread, I agree, but the team is ACTIVELY combating it, this you cannot deny. Unfortunately on this server there i a market for the gold - Players are buying it. This continues to fuel the gold farming and gold selling market.This also encourages hacking because its easily acquired gold and gives a great deal of value to old databases from past successful private servers. Valuable information is in there that lets them brute force their way into current accounts. 

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a group out there scraping information of geared characters off http://realmplayers.com/ and cross-referencing character names versus account names to do targeted attacks on geared players. There are various other methods they could be using to single out positive matches that they may have credentials for, including cross-referencing character names with old private server database emails. 

I've been a part of the private server scene for quite some time too and know firsthand what happens when other servers have it out for you. Elysium has made a number of enemies due to jealousy in the private server scene and hatred by those that stand to profit off hacking accounts. They don't need a player base so ungrateful as to neglect all the hard work put into this project as well. Try to remove your tinfoil hat and enjoy the wonderful server they provide or just leave. Don't try to ruin it for everyone else.

Oh really? cause Sheena was proud to mention that this was the 1st to offer it. What other servers? I have played on Excalibur, Peenix, K2 (recently started), Playtbc (for the hours it was out), Heroes wow, Dalaran WoW and several others. Never seen it. Can you show proof?

Warmane (ex Molten aka Lolten) has had it for years. They use Google Authenticator and nowadays 2FA email as well.

You can only provide people with tools to protect their accounts, there's no way to force them to use 2FA effectively. 

They are actively working on A core. Neither of us know what core it may be, but as evidenced by the bugtracker and the plethora of issues that players report and are ultimately fixed, work is getting done.

 

Additionally - what does it matter if it is the Nost core? I fail to see what the issue is. The player base wants the most stable core possible - Nost's core seems to have been the most stable and advanced as evidenced by their large population: What is the problem with using this core? Nost wanted the Vanilla scene to continue to flourish. They picked Elysium to transfer it to and then met with blizzard, proceeded to do a complete 180 on their stance for private servers (going out of their  way in their exit speech to label them "Pirate servers") and suddenly they do not want the vanilla scene to flourish any longer. 

Yeah, you can report the same gold seller 6 days in a row. There are a great number of bots that continue to spam and a limited number of staff. Staff that must check each individual report for fear of the outrage that would happen if they were to just ban based on the single screenshot submissions by the community. This all takes time. So the community needs to decide, do you want accuracy in these bans? Or do you want rampant banning based on 1 fledgling of evidence that CAN in fact be doctored. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

 

I've not heard about Thunder-furies being sold by staff to several players, I'd gladly look at your source for that but I find it very unlikely they would do this as a matter of policy.

I respect your opinion mate, I'm just trying to be pragmatic about this whole situation with the hatred against Elysium. It's unfounded, especially when they provide a service that offers endless hours of entertainment at no cost to us, but great cost to them. Worst of all, this hatred is disastrous for the entire private server gaming community. Why should anyone bother going to these lengths in order to provide this free service if they'll just be bashed to death about every little thing?

You been following p-servers for 7 years but never seen Molten/Warmane? Pfft they were the biggest fish before Nostalrius. Like 25k+ players 24/7 and still rocking over 20k as we speak. Shitty server tho.

@RezlindThey CONFIRMED it. The staff. There was a thread on it a while ago asking how so many people had TF. Then they openly said "there was an error and someone who shouldn't have had spawn access did and was selling items". Secondly, I care about it being Nost core since they promised and swore they went to the anathema core (theirs) and never did. Its cool kid, keep trying to justify that the project is selling gold and has security issues up the ass.

@Chef - I have heard of Molten im just not familiar with what they offer since I haven't played there. For the longest time it was one of the top rated pservers but I was more concerned with TBC servers when it was at its peak.

AQ didnt have a delay of 1 month.

 

It says on the timeline that the patch is "to be confirmed" for february.

Thats like on Nostalrius. Usually these announcements and patch releases come near the end of the month they're first set for.

Since AQ has a huge war effort to it and is in general the biggest patch in whole vanilla history it should be common knowledge that it can take time to release and adjust it, especially on a private server this huge.

I have found several threads describing what I am talking about but not the one with the "official staff response" which I am sure you want. sorry but I am done searching for something that likely was deleted by staff (like the rest of the posts that they decided weren't great to have around cough cough).
