How to make it harder for gold sellers

So obviously gold sellers have 3 tools from what I could see so far.

1. World chat spam > log out instantly

2. Mails

3. Whispers

 

I have a solution for you that is quite blizz-like
On retail there were "trial accounts" on which you could play for free until level 20 but you could not post on auction house and buy (i think) you could not /w , invite in a party (if not on friend list or something), you could not post on trade/world (if it existed) and you could not send out mails.
Just make it so accounts that don't have 21+ or whatever level you want to send mails etc. it take a while to get 21 to be honest.

I received in-game mail spam from a level 41 warrior the other week. I can only assume this person had their account compromised. Your idea really only solves a very small portion of the problem, which is the whispers and general/trade spam. It also does not totally solve this issue because if they are required to level to say, level 21, they will just level up a ton of accounts to 21 and then start spamming again.

It takes a lot more time to get level 21 than level 5-12which are characters they use to spam.

...and what do gold spammers have the most of? TIME! They are spamming CONSTANTLY! what do you think is stopping them from spending more time leveling OR running bots until they are even higher levels than now? What stops them from spamming on stolen accounts with mid-level characters vs their own accounts?

Your 'solution' is not a very viable one. You want to be helpful? Screenshot every mail, whisper, and spam you see and report it!

Gold sellers are not going away. Accounts here are free and I can only assume business is booming, or else they would have no reason to be around.

ps. I am not trying to be rude, just pointing out the flaw in your 'solution'. If you think someone has not thought of this already, you clearly have not browsed the forums before making your first post.

I didn't say its a solution, I said its a way to make it harder for them. They could spam a lot less like that yet true players would not have too much trouble to level 20+

what about legit players bank alts etc?

How will you find groups for RFC, Deadmines, and Wailing Caverns if you can't chat until level 21? Your solution would hurt normal players more than it would help.
