ezpzyo 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2017 (edited) So, when I first started playing on Elysium PvP I rolled a warrior, after hitting 39 my some buddies of mine wanted to play and I felt like rerolling alliance, I just hit 40 on my alliance toon so it's time to buy my mount, I did some research and found out that it isn't against the rules to use the cross faction AH in BB to transfer my own gold from character to character, however, I just noticed that if the toons are on the same account (which mine are), it will tell you "You can't bid on your own auction". This leaves me with two choices, give someone else on horde my gold and trust them to buy my auction OR make a throwaway character which I can trade my gold to and buy the auction myself, but as of lately I've seen alot of people getting banned over fishy gold transactions because they may or may not have been buying gold. So my question is if what I want to do is a bannable offense? The gold would end up being on the same account as it came from but I would have a throwaway account as a middle man so to speak, all trades would be made on the same IP from the same computer. TL;DR. I want to transfer gold from horde>alliance on my account, but I need to make a throwaway that I can trade the gold to and buy my own auction, bannable or no? Nelythia 44 Report post Posted March 15, 2017 This is allowed and to do that you are actually allowed to multibox temporarily in the same goblin city. There is a small possibility that their detection might catch and ban you, but if that happens you only have to create an unban appeal. They will then review the case and once they confirm nothing shady was going on you'll be unbanned.

Stop spreading misinformation on the forums. This is what an actual GM has to say about it: Quote You may have up to TWO accounts online at the same time temporarily (and they must be in the same capital city or goblin ah city) This is for the purpose of trading items with an alt, portaling your alt, buffing your alt, having your alt do crafting, that kind of thing. This allowance does not extend to using the AH, it is intended for actions that you cannot do by logging out of one character into another
Nelythia 44 Report post Posted March 15, 2017 @Lorilay This is up to discussion then. Quote The only exception is that you may have up to two characters in the same major or goblin city temporarily, for trading, crafting, conjuring and portalling purposes. It counts as trading too and otherwise the goblin city wouldn't make sense in the Terms of Use.
Lorilay 12 Report post Posted March 15, 2017 Considering that trading could also be interpreted to mean actually trading with another character, I'd suggest sticking with what the GM said that specifically addresses this issue.

This is what an actual GM has to say about it: Hi there, While the rule does not explicitly state that it is against the rules to multibox in the neutral goblin towns for sole purposes of Auction House transferring of items/gold from one faction to another, Nelythia is not incorrect in their statement. The person you are quoting is also a Junior GM and while the wording is ambiguous and open to interpretation, you can use a little bit of tact when explaining a situation where you feel the poster is incorrect in their wording. The rule states: The only exception is that you may have up to two characters in the same major or goblin city temporarily, for trading, crafting, conjuring and portaling purposes. We cannot write every single rule and instance that could or might possibly come up in the game, this is why rules are written to cover broad topics for the most part but if we need to re-evaluate our ToU or adjust it as needed, then we can and will do so.
