Sooo, these spawn timers, huh?

Recommended Posts

Heya, so Im pretty new on these servers and so far Im really enjoying myself with the nostalgia of getting my ass kicked to a bloody bulp, just like 12 years ago when Vanilla was retail.
Even tho iv already used over 24hours of game time on my rogue, and it's only lvl 23 atm, I am having a blast. Tho there is one thing that has been kind of ticking me off, and which I really just think is ... well for a lack of a better term "wasting time", and that is the spawn timers on some mobs and quests specific objects.
LIke fx, I have a quest right now in Stone Talon mountains, where I gotta go find a big ass rock, put a crystal too it and then kill a lvl 20-23 elite stone dwarf. Since the guy is a elite, and there is some packs of mobs around, Iv failed a couple of times on him, and had to wait litteraly 10 minuts for the god damn rock to respawn.
As far as Iv been able to read up on, this shouldnt be against the Elysium projects goal, of being as close to 100% vanillalike.

So yeah, that is pretty much it. Again thank your for giving us Vanilla fanboys a place to recall our childhood nostalgia again, and keep on being awesome.

Don't fail too often, WoW isn't singleplayer game. Let me repeat, WoW isn't singleplayer, if quest isn't "group quest" it doesn't mean you're oblidged to do it solo. Also, whole game is about "wasting time". Enjoy it, or learn to, if you can't.

Cheers on discovering that rocking dwarf, another feat after even visiting stonetalon.

Im talking about spawn timers m8, I know I can group for it which was also what I ended up doing, but the 10 minuts spawn timer was still there even though I grouped up. I have no problem with the game handing out bitchslaps left and right, because people think they can 1 shot Rambo it all down, all Im asking is for a 10 min spawn timer to be cut down to 5 min maybe, as I see it it's not a bad trade off ?

You can always check spawn timers on http://db.vanillagaming.org/ AoWOW...

They are very close to spot on, minus the areas that get Dynamic activated.

You missed the initial use of Dynamic Respawn with the massive population at the start of the servers.  Unfortunately you are the mercy of Blizzards genius designs now.  The best thing I can offer in terms of help is move on to another quest objective and move back and forth...  Its all we can do at this point.

You should've seen old EverQuest and it's spawntimers. (Dungeons were NOT instanced..)

But yeah spawntimers like this are normal in vanilla, that's kind of the charm. Annoying things can be charming!

And big tip: Make friend, find a guild, get groups!

Eh, I'd say it was more of an oversight on Blizzard's part rather than the intent of charm. Tharil'zun in redridge comes to mind. A quest mob that you'll have multiple groups waiting for and he's on at least a 10 minute respawn timer.
