Is it presently possible to grind enough Darkspear faction to ride a raptor mount as a Tauren? Or will this have to wait until cloth quests should ever enter the game?

If not, will it be possible to grind enough Orgrimmar faction for a wolf?

Assuming you're grinding all Darkspear quests until 60, you should still be able to grind faction reputation via turn-ins in AV to cover the gap.  It's slow going, but cheaper than buying Runecloth.

As far as I remember, Taurens can't ride raptors, as only gnomes and dwarves can ride the mechanic ones.

Check the races requirements. Your only chance is the ZG drop.
