Is that because you don't want people to see the meager population anymore, or are you so short on staff that you can't even fix that? Nothing gives you the right to ever speak to anyone this way. Have you donated to this project?

How are unique IDs any different from names? If two (or more) would be the same, then you change some in a predetermined way. It ain't rocket science. Yes it's work (editing code), but effort =/ complexity. It's open Source. If it's soooo easy to do then please provide us with the code to do this. I bet you can't even merge two excelsheets together let alone 2 servers.

Guest Report post Posted May 11, 2017 The transfer process is an extremely complicated procedure that has to copy data from the old server to the new, review all items on the players and update them accordingly to the differing patch (In Anathema and Darrowshire's case), check to see if there any duplicate names and issue renames, make sure there are no duplicate GUIDs for guilds and players, ensure that inventories and banks copied correctly (as copying CAN fail with ANY process), ensure that ALL relevant logs (quest, loot, transactions) are copied correctly, and finally also ensure that absolutely nothing was overwritten on arrival. For the large amount of data all that is, making sure it is done with minimal impact to players is very difficult and time consuming - one error in any way could cease the entire transfer process and initiate a check to see where it failed and a restart of the whole process. Your ignorance in understanding how data storage, transfer, and reliability doesn't constitute failures on our part, rather it demonstrates we are trying to ensure the best possible experience with as little hiccup as possible for the tens of thousands of players that are involved (hint, it's more than just Zeth'kur that could be impacted).
