A Game Master might be proactively trying to get me banned...

I wish to preface this post by saying that I appreciate access to this server and am extremely grateful towards the Elysium Project for providing a way to experience Vanilla WoW content again. I thoroughly enjoy the time spent playing on your servers and and wish to continue doing so. Because I wish to continue playing on your servers is the reason for me posting this thread. It is a preemptive measure to try and address an issue I suspect is brewing before there are negative consequences/fallout/etc.. I hope that this is not in any way considered an attack on the project as a whole, and I want to express the utmost respect for what you guys are doing here.

Keep up the good work!

Hello,

An individual from the Elysium staff contacted me on discord earlier in the week about GM Abuse on the Zeth'Kur realm, but I don't wish to bother him in a direct PM. Additionally, the subject matter is such that I do not feel it would be best addressed through the in-game petition system so I am submitting this issue here. I believe that the game master plays on our realm due to many suspicious comments and interactions I have had in the past, but have no solid proof. However, today in another guild's discord they have been plotting and conspiring on ways to help the game master "get this **** banned".

I do acknowledge that I like to 'rustle the jimmies' of people in public chat channels(I talk smack and what most would consider a troll), however I am not aware of the portion of the Terms of Service that forbids being a jerk or talking smack. I believe I am one of the people that Josipbroz was referring to in this screenshot.

The following is the chat log from the rival guild's discord(<Decerto> on Zeth'Kur) in which they state the GM contacted them in an attempt to solicit assistance in getting me banned:

For example, recently the GM contacted me about "Multiboxing" because I would leave my main online in town while farming on my alt. I am a trader, I make my money buying and selling equities, so I have 4 computers with 2 walls of my office lined up with flat panel displays. I would leave my main(protection warrior) logged in standing in Orgrimmar because my guild uses an add-on called "Guild Event Manager" to coordinate raid times/sign ups and it doesn't appear to work correctly without the person who created the event being online. I have now been informed that having multiple accounts logged into multiple computers in capital cities is a violation of the terms of service, but what I was doing was hardly disruptive in my opinion and if it facilitates raiding and people continuing to play on a dying realm, the game master is clearly not acting in the best interests of said realm. To be clear, I had been under the impression that "Multiboxing" was defined as multiple clients on the same machine while using some sort of automation utility to send keystrokes to all the clients at the same time(think playing 5 shamans and running them around in a ball throwing off 5 simultaneous frost shocks in world pvp). I have since stopped all such activities as instructed by the Game Master.

In my opinion and based on the information I have at my disposal, it appears that I am being held to a higher standard by the Game Master than other players on the realm.

For example, the Game Master's friend "Wootz"(from the discord chat above) does not appear to be getting harassed for having multiple characters logged in at the same time in different locations:

Do I like this player Wootz? No, he buys up portions of the AH and relists for insanely high prices. Do I get along with Wootz? Not in the slightest. Do I think what he is doing here is necessarily disruptive and he should be "banned"? No, he is doing the exact same thing I was doing until said GM decided to reprimand me.

What I do have a problem with, is that it seems that a GM may be potentially conspiring with other players(who are breaking the same rules he reprimanded me for) in an attempt to gather evidence so he can ban me.

I submit this post not in an attempt to create drama, but in an attempt to prevent it. I wish to continue playing on your servers, but I have been provided with information that suggests a rogue game master on your staff may be unfairly targeting me. I feel that if I was doing something overtly wrong, the Game Master would contact me about it instead of contacting other players about me. Either way, this seems highly unprofessional, so at the very least I am sure that whoever coordinates the support staff would like to know, so that in the future game masters can provide a more professional and helpful service to the players they interact with on your realms.

Please let me know if there is any further information that I would able to provide to assist you with this matter.

Best Regards,

Long

I'm quite glad you posted this because I have had problems with Josipbroz before, unfair warning points being thrown around left and right just for some light "trolling". He doesn't like me so he decides to abuse his "power"... I have also brought this up with other GMs before but never heard a word back. He's a tool.

Make an example of Josipbroz please Elysium team, you guys do such a fantastic job around here but this guy has no idea how to be a Support Representative..

I don't know about all that, since I have only just joined the forums, however that sucks to hear man :-(

Well if this thread actually goes anywhere (doubtful) I'll be happy. Honestly 90% of the users on this forum are no angel when it comes to posting their thoughts, (Everybody trolls on these forums) Yet I feel like Josipbroz specifically targets me, nobody like that deserves to "help" this project.

If you are concerned with the conduct of any staff, you should get in contact with their team lead. For the GM team, this is Vaelanor.

Greetings Long Zeth'kur and all other interested parties,

This is taken directly from the terms of use that you agreed to when creating your account:

VII. Multiboxing

Multiboxing is not allowed and refers to playing multiple characters simultaneously. Whether this is done via 3rd party software, alt-tabbing between instances, or by running multiple machines, does not matter.

The only exception is that you may have up to two characters in the same major or goblin city temporarily, for trading, crafting, conjuring, portalling or using the Neutral Auction House to transfer items/gold to an alt.

-------

So what you acknowledged doing above is a permanently bannable offense. The GM who contacted you and politely asked you to stop doing it was 100% following processes and procedure.

We do not talk about sanctions or actions taken against another player, unless they bring them into the public arena but what I will say is this. Impersonating a member of staff is a sanctionable offense. You shouldnt assume just because someone says they are a "GM" that they are.

We have thoroughly investigated this accusation (multiple times beacuse you have reported it multiple times via multiple platforms) and there is no staff member activly looking for things to sanction you for.

What I would say is this, clearly you have upset some players so you might want to read the Terms of Use found here:  https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/21966-terms-of-use-rules-regulations/ to ensure you are not breaking any of the rules. Some members of the community are clearly watching you and waiting for reasons to report you.

Regarding other players multiboxing - if you see something, say something and we will investigate them and sanction as appropriate.

Regards, The GM team.
