Ashe 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2017 Been thinking about trying a healer. Are druids any good? Or should I stick with a pally or priest?
Indormi 2 Report post Posted June 20, 2017 Druids are alright. I played Priest in vanilla, but Paladin is by far the strongest healer early on I believe.
Mozq 1 Report post Posted June 20, 2017 Pros: Everyone wants a druid in their WSG premade Lack of druids, makes all guilds love you. Great MT healers. Their gear is pretty cheap on AH. Cons: They are a bitch to level. Healing in raids can get somewhat boring. You will be forced to play a healer.
flowqz 34 Report post Posted June 20, 2017 @Mozq every healingclass gets "forced" to play healer, doesnt matter which one you pick.
Mozq 1 Report post Posted June 20, 2017 There are a few exceptions.
DruidPlayer 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2017 Nothing but misinformation and fearmongering kek. Druid is a fun class, with being the easiest to level class other than the pet classes. Being extremely versatile and adaptive to whatever you want to get into, whether that is PVPing, which is much more than a flag carrying bitch. Or PVEing which you don't need to lock yourself into being a healer alone, and if you do enjoy healing Druid can offer the most diverse range of specialisations that only expand and get better early on with a ton of different builds and ways to play inside of a raid. (Aka not boring). While DPS druids are wanted often, people know if they have a druid in their raid and their group they can increase DPS and offer utility that other classes can only dream of. People's narrow-sighted view of druids is something passed down through people trusting what some idiotic forum poster/youtuber has spouted and it has gained traction for no reason whatsoever. >Paladin is by far the strongest healer early on I believe. Incorrect, Druids are competitive healers that can perform extremely well and still offer support to the raid. Paladins are probably at their strongest at this point in the game and yet Druids compete fine and often better. Play smart and know your class and you can do better than any member of your raid. >Everyone wants a druid in their WSG premade Yes. But this hinges on you getting your PVP set, which a lot of druids have and ranking up a brand new druid might not be what people want. >Lack of druids, makes all guilds love you. Correct, currently druid is the least played class on both factions. This doesn't mean you're more wanted than let's say a Dwarf Priest for instance but there is less competition for raid spots than other classes. >Great MT healers While I'd argue that Paladins and Priests are much better MT healers, Druids can save a tank in an instant with large heals that come from Nature Swiftness and potentially Swiftmend, with some builds going for improved regrowth and nature's grace for fast and large regrowths, and the feeling you get when you blanket the raid in rejuvenation and see the HOT ticks roll in is fun. >Their gear is pretty cheap on AH. I don't know what "their gear" entails, most of the druid prebis is from dungeons like every other healing class other than Hide of the Wild (A cape every healing class uses) and Living Shoulders, which is a easy shoulder craft with very cheap materials. >They are a bitch to level. False see above. Cat form's base damage is amazing and you'll do more damage than a warrior or rogue in melee, as they would have to rely on weapons, which we do not. With heals and a tanky bear form, with roots? You'll survive mobs and pulls classes simply would not be able to do and group quests can often be solo'd. >Healing in raids can get somewhat boring. False see above. A wide variety of builds and play styles that differ from Paladins FoL spam or Priest's FoL/Heal spam, with instant casts and deciding what rank of spell to use can make for challenging on the fly gameplay. >You will be forced to play a healer. The worst offender. This is absolutely utterly false. You can play ANY spec you want, and you will find a place with dedication and research. Balance is a fun and rare build, that can do massive damage in raids and is highly enjoyable seeing your starfire crits, mana is a issue yes. But with the proper consumables it can be mitigated. Feral is competitive with the proper research and knowledge especially at the moment, with power-shifting allowing for a level of complexity that other classes don't have, with procs and utility that most DPS cannot offer druid DPS is in a league of its own. I AM AN UNBIASED SOURCE PLEASE IGNORE MY NAME.
Masteridley 3 Report post Posted June 20, 2017 Druids are the fastest healers to level, you can kill 3-4 mobs your lvl in cat form (not at once but one after another), switch out and heal yourself to full, rinse and repeat. They get 30% movement speed at lvl 21 and 40% movement speed at lvl 30. While leveling you can join dungeon groups as tank, dps or healer. At 60 you'll have no problem finding a guild as a healer. If you ever get sick of healing then you can try out feral, imo it's the most viable offspec in the game. As the above poster mentioned though what makes them so awesome is their versatility. They can tank, melee dps, heal, range spell damage dps, they can stealth, break polymorph, cast inervate, etc. Or you can try paladin, I am sure it's a lot of fun auto attacking, buffing every 5 minutes and casting flash of light over and over again ( I joke :) ).
