Nirinia 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2017 I opened a ticket to ask that a quest reward, Glimmering Mithril Insignia, be restored to my character after losing it quite a while ago. This was at least 2 weeks ago. Since then I've had 1 request by a gm to change the content of my ticket to the format that the gms use (item/quest ids). Not long after I had my ticket closed without a gm response. Since I reopened it straight after it being closed I've had not a single response from any gms for at least a week. This is getting rather ridiculous for a simple item restoration request. Character: Nirinia Server: Darrowshire
Spionida 10 Report post Posted July 18, 2017 From what I have heard in previous similar episodes. ot all GMs can restore items, only a small proportion. Mostly they add an item to a list. To restore an item, a GM of sufficient seniority has to catch you on line and check that you have done that quest. They have to check that you have none of the possible rewards from that quest. They have to check that you have not had an item from the possible rewards restored before. Only then can they restore the item. What could have "gone wrong"? The GM who listed your item for restoration should have let you know that they had listed it. Maybe they forgot to do this. They may have put the wrong details on the list. Virtually impossible to work out who a misspelled name might be. The list may have errored, it's software. The item may have been sent and the mailing system failed. I am sure that there are other possible points of failure. So, resend your ticket. Don't attribute malice where there is no evidence. It may be that there are too few GMs trying to do their volunteer job. But that's another matter.
Nirinia 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2017 I do not mean nor imply any malice, apologies if it seems that way
Hudson 16 Report post Posted July 18, 2017 Please resubmit your ticket with the quest ID and item ID. We do not mean to give the impression that we are ignoring you.
Nirinia 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2017 I resubmitted my ticket on the day of the above response and just now it got closed without any gm response, this is just getting silly now. I mean I posted the ticket with all the details on it (quest id, item id, character, server etc) and this is the 3rd time its been closed, 2nd without warning. I am an armoursmith, I have been to the quest npc to see if the quest was available (it was not), I've checked my bank (not there), I've posted multiple tickets, I just don't know what else I can do to try and get this 1 item restored
Nirinia 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2017 going to post a copy of my ingame ticket on here so I can repost easily if the gms decide to close it without response again Please restore this lost item: Glimmering Mithril Insignia (id:10418) From quest: Did you lose this? (id 3321) Character: <snip> Realm: Darrowshire Please do not clsoe this ticket without warning again, I know for certain this quest has been completed on this character (been to the quest npc, not available even though I am an armoursmith).
Spionida 10 Report post Posted July 21, 2017 You do seem to have cause for complaint. Closing a ticket without any communication is poor practice. Saying that, it does happen. What was the response on the ticket that was answered, out of curiosity?
Nirinia 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2017 it was just a request to reformat my original ticket (I didn't have q/item ids on it)
Spionida 10 Report post Posted July 21, 2017 Reading here and Discord, together with my own experiences in-game, it is obvious that there are too few GMs and/or a poor skill mix to provide an adequate service. That's not to criticise individual GM's efforts, far from it. It's a system failure.
Hudson 16 Report post Posted July 22, 2017 Are you online on that character often? You need to be online for a GM to investigate an item restoration.
Spionida 10 Report post Posted July 22, 2017 I don't think that it is the presence or absence of being in-game, it's the closing of his ticket, twice, with no communication. A reply of the type, "please edit your ticket to give some available times that you will be on-line" would be the way to go, IMO.
