Warlock pet question?

In this early version of wow did the warlocks pets not attack at all and do you have to use the pets attack yourself to actually do any damage?

When you cue melee attack at a target (even if you're not in range), your pet will engage/attack that same target if the pet is on Defend instead of Passive status.  Same for using a Wand or a Spell to attack the target.

last night tried 2 warlocks and the pets wouldnt attack i had to use the spells myself on them

They auto attack once you send them out to attack. But to make them use spells, you have to right click the spell so that your pet will use that spell on cool down (if it has one)

I take it youre having issues with the Imp? His fireball is not an auto attack. Its a spell with no cooldown. If you right click the spell, the Imp will auto cast Fireball every time he can when instructed to attack (or is set on Defensive/Aggressive)
