Exploit or use of game mechanics

Recommended Posts

I want to discuss the latest announcement about exploits made by Pottu on the general forum. I'm Farming DM E daily and the strategy that I use for the last boss includes skiping the last two packs before the boss, by jumping down on the pillar then onto the ground and pulling the boss from behind. This means that the mobs that I skip will be pulled at 50% of the boss HP and there is a way of "kiting" them to avoid them during the fight. I wanna know if what I'm doing is against the ToV or if it's a use of game mechanics. I don't want to go into details since It's probably known by many but I don't want to share the information if it ends up being an exploit.

And what is this suspicious quotation of "kiting" in your post? if you explained that you could get an answer.

Just ignore the announcement. Sorry but I can't take that serious.

I farmed Strath live/UD until exalted and almost everytime there was someone who demanded the warlock or hunter to pull Magistrate Barthillas from side entrace with a pet that walks through the closed door, which is clearly a bug abuse and compareable to Dire Maul terrain abuse. I wrote a ticket after the first times, asking if it's allowed and I was told it is not allowed. It still did not have any consequence, almost any run I had to bear this nonblizzlike mangos abuse and people got angry if I tried to talk them out of this behavior. GMs depend mostly on someone reporting it, I doubt they permanently observe spots like Dire Maul in multiple instances. Well... just shut up and do whatever you want. Chances are very small that anything happens, except someone reports you with screenshot proof.

Pulling Magistrate Barthillas through the side entrance gate is an exploit and if we catch you doing it we will ban you.

If by "Kiting" you mean abusing a terrain exploit to make them evade/bug then that is an exploit and we will ban you for it.

Use your intuition. If you think you are avoiding a mechanic, or what is clearly the intention of how the encounter is supposed to work then its probably an exploit and you should ask (through an in-game ticket).

The GM team.
