Papercut 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2017 Hi, Recently respecced from combat swords to combat daggers (15/31/5) but I struggle to keep up with combat swords in raid. I know there's probably alot of different explanations for that.. like gear, consumes, luck or maybe that I just suck. However, I want to discuss rotations in this thread. For trash I usually don't have time to build enough CB that my evis will be bigger than BS (who crits way more often), so the rotation usually goes something like: BS->SnD->BS->BS->Evis/SnD (depending on how much HP trash has left and I don't have time to get 60energy for BS before it dies) For longer fights its something like: BS->SnD->BS->BS->BS->SnD->BSx4/5->Evis->BS->SnD Overall: I keep SnD up 100% of the time and try not to use it before it hits 0sec. Pop BF and AR whenever it's smart to do. I try not to use SS which is a problem in large trash grps where its not so easy to position behind the mobs.. Been trying to find a macro/addon that casts SS or BS depending if the mob has its back to you (let me know if you have a solution). So - what am I doing wrong? :P
Kazic 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2017 First, did you pick up relentless strikes in assassination? I've seen some rogues choose 5/5 lethality without relentless strikes which is a huge mistake. Your problem is your rotation though. Eviscerate should not be part of your normal rotation. The only time you should ever eviscerate is during adrenaline rush. Combat daggers is most effective when 100% of your energy is used to backstab. Your base rotation should just be BSx5 then 5pt SnD. You can open a few different ways, either BSx2 then AR>SnD or BSx1>SnD>AR or BSx2>Thistle tea>BSx1>SnD>AR. Basically you want to get SnD up as quick as possible then get into AR. AR will let you get enough combo points for a 5pt SnD and from there you should only ever do 5pt SnD for finishers, except maybe right as the boss is about to die you can dump combo points with eviscerate. Hope this helps

I'm not sure about regular macro coding, but you could use LazyScript. Then make a macro of /lazyscript and assign it to a key. ss-ifAttackFromBehindJustFailed2.0s bs The "if" for SS might be slightly off, but it should be pretty close. The first press would try to BS, then the 2nd press would check to see if BS just failed and give you a 2 second window to SS instead before it reset to BS again for another attempt.
Hummi 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2017 1. Don't bother Evi ... it will contribute less then 1% to your DMG maximum. Sometimes you won't use it at all 2. Check your talents for Relentless strikes 3. Sword Rogues will be higher on trash, cause of positioning, target switches and so on 4. Ally Human Sword Rogues have 310 expertise. Switch to dagger gives you only 305, if you don't compensate with Gloves/Dagger/Belt 5. On Boss fights you should be competetive to your sword colleagues. Bring consumables, remember that vanish is now a DPS CD as well (Ambush). Combine Thistle tea and Blade Flurry
