Should I roll human or dwarf priest?

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I'm torn on what to roll as my first toon, human or dwarf priest. I really prefer the human aesthetic for priests, but I fear I will have trouble finding a raid team if I don't min max and play a dwarf for fear ward. Looking for advice for people who have raided at 60 to help me decide what I should do.

Thank you!

so far only some mc speedrunners only take dwarf priests. the rest is fine with good players and 2-3 dwarfpriests.

just check some recruitement threads for more info.

Only shitty raids care about fear ward. Horde doesn't even get this spell. Human is perfectly fine.

Honestly, human is fine. Especially if you progress to TBC. Every priest gets fearward.

as far as i remember that happens in a later patch and not at the start.

Dwarf Priests have a much better time getting accepted into raids and in PvP (Stoneform breaks Blind). It's up to you if you want to gimp yourself by playing a Human.

Horde uses Will of the Forsaken and Shaman Tremor Totems to compensate for the lack of Fear Ward. Alliance leans heavily on Fear Ward.

You also get cleanse and divine shield, we do not. Do not try to make a contest where one literally can not be made. An Alliance raid with 0 fear wards is still better than a Horde raid.

And Shamans get Poison Cleansing Totems and Disease Cleansing Totems. And you can still have Priests dispel just fine or even have SM/Ruin Warlocks use Felhunters for devour magic dispels. Shamans also bring Windfury Totem and Mana Tide Totem to raids. And an Alliance raid with 0 Fear Wards will likely wipe on bosses that use heavy fear mechanics, so I'll have to strongly disagree with you there. Shamans and Paladins and Dwarf Priests all contribute their own unique perks to raids, but your strange fixation with insisting Horde raids have it so much worse is rather melodramatic.
