Shwoom 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2017 Hello! I played a Tauren Warrior (female of course) in vanilla and created the same on Darrowshire last night, doing first bit of questing last night (omg nostalgia) and will likely chip away at my char solo most of the time, but I love doing instances... Am I likely to be able to find groups to instances as I level up on horde side? I would prefer to be tanking as I have done almost exclusively in real WoW for the last 12 years, does that make it easier? Or should I be going alliance (shudder!)? Or should I be going to a PvP server? Won't have the time to raid sadly, so that's not an issue I hate hate hate PvP/ganking so that is what drew me to this server.. I was quite excited as there were 6 or 7 others doing the same initial quests as me last night, with a few emotes going about and some chat, but this forum indicates that it might be a bit more dead than the impression I got. Also: can anyone recommend a friendly levelling guild should I stay here horde side (I'm in the UK and can play 9pm-12midnight CET)
Aderlass 1 Report post Posted October 6, 2017 If you want to level without getting ganked and without having major lags Darrowshire is definitely the right server. Horde population is kinda low, so you might have to be patient to find groups for instances but if you are actively searching in worldchat you should be able to find groups for every dungeon.

Probably. Might take slightly longer to form a 5-man group, but so long as you can FIND a group to join, you shouldn't be blocked from progressing. 1 hour ago, Shwoom said: I would prefer to be tanking as I have done almost exclusively in real WoW for the last 12 years, does that make it easier? According to the posters in our Warrior Forum, you either go Fury or Go Home. I myself am building my Warrior on an 11/0/40 spec and think the elitist jerks can have fun playing with their cookie cutters in the well worn wheel ruts they don't want to climb out of. So no ... it's not a question of "easier" but more a matter of "what do you enjoy more?" ... and from the sound of it, you enjoy being an aggro magnet. Keep it up. 1 hour ago, Shwoom said: Or should I be going alliance (shudder!)? If you're a Hordie at heart, stick with the Horde. You'll enjoy it more, which is what this is really all about. 1 hour ago, Shwoom said: Or should I be going to a PvP server? If you hate PvP and ganking, Darrowshire is the place for you. Welcome to the Promised Land. Now, help us Keep Mulgore Beautiful and do what you can to clean up Barrens Chat (the never ending battle). 1 hour ago, Shwoom said: I was quite excited as there were 6 or 7 others doing the same initial quests as me last night, with a few emotes going about and some chat, but this forum indicates that it might be a bit more dead than the impression I got. Reports of the demise of Horde side on Darrowshire are greatly exaggerated. You've already seen for yourself that you're Not Alone™.

Nelythia 44 Report post Posted October 7, 2017 It's not exaggerated. As horde that played since day 1 on Nostalrius PvE (now Darrowshire) to escape the 12.5k+ peaks on laggy PvP (now Anathema) I can tell you that finding dungeons while leveling isn't impossible, but takes a very long time. I sometimes see the same maraudon groups, ST groups and a few other dungeon groups looking for members for more than 3 hours, then they give up. High level dungeons are not impossible either of course, but here in fact it also takes quite a long time, especially if you need a tank. While leveling and especially max level you should just join any guild, then you can find dungeons faster with guildmates or alts of them.
Pipkin 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2017 For leveling I recommend <The Brave>. Several active 60s with leveling alts that tend to be willing to stop what they're doing to help a guildie in need. You will sometimes see people trying for a dungeon for hours in chat, but many people are more willing to run dungeons with guildies over randoms, so being in a guild is a priority if you want easy dungeon groups. As for build, if raiding isn't a concern then by all means go tank. The rare occasions when I can't get a dungeon going, it's usually for lack of a tank.
