seeth07 1 Report post Posted December 14, 2017 I had the exact same thing happen to me a couple of days ago. I saw an item really cheap and bought it out for what I thought was a buyout of 1g. When I went to the mailbox, it said I paid 10g! I looked at the gold count in my bag and it was indeed 10g that I paid! I didn't report a bug and I should have (especially because it looks like I'm not the only one affected by this). Have the gold sellers found a new way to make gold by hacking the auction house?!?!?

No, you simply misread the price, and it is a very common tactic going back since vanilla in retail for people to put in an extra digit when listing auctions to try and fool people. Or to put the auction listed as "gold" instead of "silver". Just learn from this lesson. Edited December 14, 2017 by DarknessCalls

Like I said, I didn't think at the time to take the screen shots to prove it but it surely wasn't a mistake on my part.

The image above wasn't evidence of a proven glitch, it just shows he spent 31g on mana potions and probably thought it meant 31 silver. There is no way to "hack" the auction house on the client end to make it say one price but actually be another.

While I can't say for sure that it isn't possible in Vanilla WOW, I can for 100% say for sure that it was possible in D3. And I do have proof of that.
Mister K 3 Report post Posted December 14, 2017 (edited) Yeah it surely isn't "hack" as otherwise it would be extremely exploited already. You would have forums flooded by such thing. Edited December 14, 2017 by imisterk
