Arrghrow 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2018 So.. If I buy the epic riding skill before the patch will it translate into 150 riding skill after the patch? That would certainly make the epic mount cheaper
SweetRevenge 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2018 when is this patch going into effect?
DarknessCalls 8 Report post Posted January 7, 2018 Patch is already in effect. And yes people exploited that to get a super cheap epic mount riding. Extremely silly and unblizzlike in my opinion.
Jupes85 5 Report post Posted January 10, 2018 Pretty much every 60 has an epic now. Noticed it today after not being on for a few days, and I imagine it's because they bought the cheap skill pre-patch. It's pretty lame.

When Blizzard first did it, no one even thought to plan on it happening.

When Blizzard first did it, no one even thought to plan on it happening. Blizzard did not implement this change until 1.12.1. The fact the people knew beforehand or not is irrelevant at that stage of the game, unless you're a late comer. But certainly the majority of the playerbase had purchased the full priced riding skill by September '06. All in all, it mostly just served as a way for players to be able to purchase other mounts for cheaper. I don't imagine a lot of players would have planned on sticking to their level 40 mounts until the last few months of Vanilla just so they can get cheaper riding. But unfortunately, that isn't the reality on here. People are still leveling up. People are still fresh 60s, trying to scrap gold together. So when you allow them to buy a skill for 200g instead of 900g, then it has a huge impact. Huge oversight by the devs. Super unfortunate.
orwell 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2018 And predictably all the GM team is on discord making shitty jokes instead of coming here and try to solve a real problem.
brittney 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2018 What is there to solve? It's already happened.

I dont know how any of this works, but my solution would be: delete epic mount & riding for everyone who exploited, send them their 180g for it back and have them buy it again but for the intended 1000g. dont know it thats even possible to do, wont happen anyway bc this was clearly intentionally a gift for everyone who reached lvl60 early.
