Been away for a while, what happened to characters from Anathema?

Been away since a little before X-mas and tried to log in today. Had 3 lvl 60 and some twinks at the Anathema server but cant find my characters.... It says that I have 10 characters on the nighthaven server in the realm list, but have never played there. And when I click the realm no characters load... Just want to know what happened to my old Anathema characters.

In mid-October, lots of drama occurred and a big split happened and the two teams split up, you can google for more information on how to access your characters.

But suffice to say your characters are not here on this project any longer, the only thing you can do is roll a new character on Nighthaven.

Anathema, Elysium and Darrowshire were all merged to a single server, Stratholme. Stratholme's user base wanted a fresh server so we launched Nighthaven. Nighthaven then dominated the population for the project so we moved Stratholme offline. Your characters are all still saved, but due to only about 300 people online we moved the server offline. To play here you will have to re-roll like everyone else onto Nighthaven. Nighthaven does not support or allow character transfers or restores.

The login screen showing more characters is a known issue. You had 10 characters that were merged to Stratholme, which is what that is showing.

There will be a Burning Crusade expansion server here, and you will have the opportunity to transfer characters on Stratholme to that new server when it launches. We do not have a firm date, but it will be after Nighthaven completes the patch timeline posted on the main website.

weren't there like 10,000+ peak players on Anathema, Elysium, and Darrowshire? wtf happened to all of them?
