TBC Server Updates?

With retail's Classic quickly approaching, I am starting to worry about Elysium's BC Server not being populated enough.

There is a core group on Nighthaven that plan on moving to continue the hard work they put into their characters, but Nethergarde seems to have nobody waiting for the launch on the BC server. I've talked to numerous people, trying to get some like-minded friends to prepare and plan for the BC copy yet everyone I talk to are just prepping for retail Classic.

 

How do you guys plan on recruiting a bigger player base for your BC server? Do you think the non-retail players that play other BC servers will flock here for a "fresh" BC server?

 

Advertisement? Maybe putting a in-game system message advertising it across both NG and NH servers?

 

I want to play Retail classic but it doesn't fit my playstyle. I work 40-60 hours a week, have a 2 year old and a 7 month old. I'm a weekend player. Paying $15/month to play maybe 9-12 hours a week doesn't make much sense to me. Which is why I enjoy Private servers. I don't feel pressured. I can play casually without any regrets of paying for my entertainment.

 

I want your BC server to succeed. I am just wondering what you're doing to get the message out there as far as advertisement.

We do advertise in system messages and on discord, those messages were replaced by NG messages more recently.

We get the word out on reddit, on pserver community sites like dkpminus. There's not a ton of places you can advertise a wow pserver. There's the "vote" sites where we incentivise people with coins to vote, but honestly I don't think we get many, if any, users from those.

Some pservers plan to shut down upon retail launch. Those players will need a new home.

But above and beyond all of those things, I honestly think Blizzard is going to do the best job at recruiting for all pservers in the community.

I don't think the product they are going to put out is going to be anything like actual vanilla. I think some players will like that and stay, I think others will try it and search out alternatives.

We will have more information shortly about TBC and an update for what we have been up to.

Previously you've said at the end on Q1, but now that we're 1/3 done with Q2 are there anymore updates?

We have recently been posting updates again in the #TBC-annoucements channel of our discord. Namely, that we have 2 new developers working on TBC, we reverted XP rates to 1x on the beta realm and have been testing our revamped 2.4.3 database trying to identify and eliminate any bugs we find. Were moving into what we hope is our 3rd and final phase of beta testing.

there is a way to find a lot of ppl who want to play tbc  log in nightheaven do /who naxxramas and start asking we are borred of doing the same raids over and over again logging in to kill the same guys we killed in nostalrius kronos elysium and all the vanila pserver

i don't remember any decent tbc server that lasted more than 3 months  but i am prety sure i have run BWL 667 times

we need tbc wipes we need to not be prepaired  or to not face Prince Malchezaar alone but the legions he comands 😛

Can you at least share your thoughts on launch timing strategy regarding official WoW ?  Before Vs During Vs After?
