Queeky 58 Report post Posted August 7, 2016 The battleground queue command was removed because it had the potential of driving away players due to its non-Blizzlike function, whereas the command to view hidden characteristics (.get) was removed because some people voted against it, and it can be easily replicated via macros, addons or mathematics. Many people who didn't play on Valkyrie do not realise how well those commands worked in increasing pvp activity and basing on their opinion you had just thrown away part of previous server legacy. Valkyrie in the pick of her popularity had 5-7 minute BG queues thanks to them. On lvl 60 it's not a trouble, but imagine those low levels walking on foot... that's why low level brackets were never active. Yeah, i think it's pretty easy too, but, as i remember, my characters always have to travel to a lot of cities at the low levels (10+) - making party for your first run to Ragefire Chasm makes you travel to Undercity, Thunder Bluff and Orgrimmar, so i don't think that newbies will have problems with joining a queue. Also, there is a hearthstones, bound to capitals and fly masters, that will help you reach battlemaster as fast as possible. earth 3 Report post Posted August 7, 2016 It works great in many situations, you can farm for example herbs or mining,and still pvp and be queued, without command you have to sit in a city and wait for bg to pop,which will be sometimes 1 hour, cuz i know this server wont have over 500ppl, or even that. You will see more people outside of the cities which will make world PvP more likely to happen. Downside of such queuing is inability to kill a person with popped up bg invite. I know that there are some restrictions like you can't join bg if your falling,,, But usually thanks to this feature the person can leave the place of impact unpunished. I think this commands is really, really useful, but people at Nostalrius don't needed it, players in 2004 don't needed it, so.. It takes 10 sec of casting to teleport a player with hearthstone, mage's or druid's spells, engi transporters, unstuck function. The only thing that affects pvp experience so much I can think about is warlock's summoning, it doesn't happen so often though. At this point I'm actually quite annoyed by the term "blizzlike". Almost every server claims to be blizzlike. I personally support small changes that don't alter the soul of the game. Kronos has a 10 gold maximum on respecs. That is certainly a bigger change than BG commands, and they are doing just fine for population. I'm disappointed that now Elysium won't have the commands because they want to play it safe, and not scare off a few people who may have a "blizzlike" fetish. Yenza 173 Report post Posted August 9, 2016 I was discussing changes like this to a fellow wow developer a while back and making small changes like these could actually make it a better play experience BUT we both agreed that if you want to stick to a blizzlike feel then we would create some kind of item that players could carry around (e.g. a horn you can blow with a cooldown) to enter the queue for a battleground instead of commands which ruins the immersion to the game. You could even create quests etc before people could achieve them. People have been playing classic realms for a while now, why not improve it just a tiny bit without breaking the classic touch of it.PS:Same goes with raids... after Naxx has been cleared, why not create a new raid with classic feel to it. 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
