Screen freezes

So basicly I'm experiencing screen freezes, sometimes it freezes once for like 5-10 seconds, sometimes I have few short 1 second freezes one after another and it usually happens when horde player is nearby (I'm playing alliance). I've set my graphics to minimum. cleared my WDB,  set core affinity to 1, ran the game as admin and with compatibility mode and now I'm out of ideas, my PC is not dated, it can run GTA V and such so vanilla wow is no problem and with the fact that it happens when horde players are nearby or some pvp going on I came to think it may be a serverside issue.

 

I'm looking for some help to solve this, maybe some clientside solution or maybe admin will check some "server settings" and what now, or maybe simply I'm not the one with that issue and we can find a solution together.

I can provide few links that say that it happened to some people on few other servers and people said it was a serverside issue, if mods allow it I will post links here

I'm getting the same 1 sec freezes too. Happens all the time, regardless of what I'm doing. Every 10 to 15 seconds I'll get the quick stutter, but it's very noticeable.

 

I've tried everything possible on my side to try and fix this - reinstalled my OS, made sure all drivers are updated, disabled services connected with stutter problems, tested low, medium and high settings, installed a different 1.12.1 client, disabled sound to verify it wasn't a sound driver issue, and scoured the internet looking for solutions and trying all that I have found. Still the same result.

 

I've played on several wow servers from vanilla to wotlk and this is the first time I've ever encountered this so I have to agree with what's been said so far, it has to be a server side issue.

Yea, you said that lol.. Pretty sure after all I've done I tried that as well.. "tested low, medium and high settings"

Its was on valk pretty long time, and when you use medium terrain distance setting freezzes gone

This should solve the problem. If it does not work then you have a hardware problem.

Well, I know it's not a hardware problem.

 

I logged on Rebirth, K1, and K2 and it doesn't happen there. Had the same addons loaded and used the exact same video settings (Default settings - which puts terrain distance on medium)

 

Not sure what you guys have going on with this server, but it's only happening here.

There is a reason they tell to put terrain distance on medium.

 

Some folks found out, that setting on minimum is bugged, and works as if it was on "maximum". That is why you experience freezing when it is set "to the minimum".

Also, this isn't a game breaking problem. It's just annoying as вау.. I have never encountered this on other servers, so why is it like that here? Anyway, I can see this is something that people have just been told to "deal with it" when the right attitude would be to fix the problem and be done with it. To say it's not something on the server side is hilarious.. that's all I'm saying.

It is you PC problem dude, not server problem.

 

Set lowest Terrain Viewing Distance and problem fix.

It happened to me in Nost, Feen etc either.  Feen is most popular for this issue with their Naxx Released .

 

Nost and kron solved this by reducing overall World "Server Viewing Distance" , instead server doing that , you can do that by yourself .

It happens also in narrow corridors and caves of Stockade and BFD. If this can be "solved by reducing overall World "Server Viewing Distance", why is this not an option on Elysium? How it was fixed on Valk?

the freeze is caused 100% by the server, i use the copy-paste WTF settings on Elysium and never had the freeze problem on other servers

Gonna be honest, I haven't seen any freezes for the past 2 days I think, and my graphic is maxed out.

Bumping the thread, been fighting horde sometimes and sometimes I get like 10 seconds freezes which results in a gg. Fix this cuz its getting really annoying

Have the same issue. Found a macro after some searching:

/console farclip 177
/console characterAmbient 1
/console smallcull 1
/console skycloudlod 1
/console detailDoodadAlpha 1

 

It reduced the duration of my freezes from 5-15 seconds to 1-3 seconds but it still happens at least once an hour, typically during PvP.

Same problem here.

I will do later 2 things: 1) reduce terrain distance to medium. and 2) do this console commands.

Will post results.

Anyway, there is another post from other guy that suggest to put in 64 Hz monitor throught Nvidia control panel and similars, and then use a program to limit 64 Hz Directx Games, peharps this info would works in other computers. Not my case.

Can some from the Admin try to address this issue. I think it is a problem for many people, including myself. 

For those who tried to solve the problem before, have you guys found a fix yet?

Same problem here, i can confirm too (other servers works well), it's a server problem.
