Hints and Tips for leveling (Killerduki's view)

Recommended Posts

If I may offer my 2 cents - there is nothing in this world more satisfying than 1shot Reck Bombing Horde.

Something along these lines - 0/25/26 - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#sZVGt0s0xZVfotrck

Deep Ret has its merits but once you go Reck for PvP you never go back :P

I'd say that 1 point in vindication is much better than 1 point in deflection.

Yea it's good to rekt rogues, warrs and maybe hunters even, assuming you can get in range of a hunter.

But I hold to my earlier statement, repentance is too good against casters to pass up in pvp. Also conse is very good against stealth.

It's a toss up but I do remember Vindication being bugged and taking up a debuff slot against raid bosses so not advisable - unless it's been fixed.

AKA it has no effect against mobs/bosses since they do not have stats but dmg ranges so if it's on a raid boss it's needlessly taking up a debuff slot.

The trick when Reck spec is to not use your bombs against Rogues but against the casters with them - let the Rogues feed you reck charges then 1shot their healer :)

No I know - I'm just saying that it was bugged previously and I never took it as a result - the same reasoning applies if you go deep Ret for both PvE and PvP - I wouldn't recommend taking Vindication if it is still bugged because your guild leader will yell at you for using up a debuff slot needlessly.

That's what I meant with "pvp spec", you don't use vindication in a pve spec.

you'd be surprised tbh

quite a few paladins on nost had the talent while PvEing and I've had to explain to them that it was actually detrimental to the raid since it's a high priority debuff and can't be removed until it falls off on its own

This guy here used Vindication in MC and BWL...and bitched me out cause I had the nerve to inform him that it was a useless talent to use in PvE.

His name is quite fitting TBH - he's one of the worst Ret Paladins on the server - avoid him like the plague everyone!

So from what I know, I mean I might be wrong but, isn't his gear and ench pretty фекал? Was he using SotC or SoC?

1. He refused to respec out of Vindication when I informed him that it was taking up a debuff slot needlessly

2. He refused to Judge Wisdom and insisted on Judging Crusader (even though I had the PvP gloves with +20 to JotC and he didn't) - because, "I don't have enough mana to Seal Twist..."

3. Was a complete dick about #1 and #2 when I asked him politely (as seen in the screenshots)

4. I ended up getting kicked from the guild cuz he was IRL friends with the GM and apparently I was causing drama

5. Another Ret friend was recruited after I left and he ended up quitting himself cuz this guy was such a retard lol!

He wouldn't have to seal twist right? I mean if you used JotC it would benefit him also right?

No the funny thing is that he didn't even know what Seal Twisting actually is...

He simply didn't want to have to click Seal of Wisdom, Judge it, then Cast Seal of the Crusader because, "I don't have room on my action bar for another ability."

By the slimy scales of Old Mmmrrrggglll, I say !!

yes, they made him class leader but asked him to read my Retribution guide in order to know how to play the class/spec

3 bars has always been enough for me to get in all pala spells, so idk what he fills his bars with xD

It's a mystery wrapped inside the enigma that is his brain (or lack thereof).

I wish I was making this stuff up cuz you can't come up with $hit like this!

Here is my step by step Retribution Talents while Leveling point of view:

(i would personally use Blessing of Wisdom instead Might so i can regenerate nice portion of Mana and do quite nice DPS thru Judgements max rank and procs by Weapons).

Benediction 5/5

Improved Seal of the Crusader 3/3

Judgement 2/2

Seal of Command 1/1

Pursuit of Justice 2/2

Conviction 5/5

Improved Blessing of Might 2/5

Sanctity Aura 1/1

Two-Handed Weapon Specialization 3/3

Improved Blessing of Might 3/5

Vengeance 5/5

Divine Strength 5/5

Divine Intellect 5/5

Consecration 1/1

Redoubt 5/5

Precision 3/3

Improved Blessing of Might 5/5

Weapons :

- Start with any Green 2h Mace or Sword while Questing until you hit level 16+

- Go for The Deadmines and try to get Smite's Mighty Hammer

- Run later to Ashenvale and start doing the Chain Quest "Raene's Cleansing"

- When you are done with the Chain Quest "Raene's Cleansing" you get "Glacial Stone" (in my opinion is stronger than Verigan Fist because you can proc it thru Seal of Command and Judgement of Command).

- Later try to get group for Gnomeregan if it is possible and pick "Manual Crowd Pummeler" , it is good in combination with Seal of the Crusader.

- When ready try to get group for Scarlet Monastery and chase "Ravager" from Armory , (it suppose to proc from Seal and Judgement of Command and also should refresh Judgement of the Crusader while Whirlwind).

- If possible when you hit level 48+ try to get group and pick "Smoldering Claw" from Sunken Temple because it is unlikely anyone to go for it and Proc from Seal/Judge of Command, despite the weapon speed it will increase the DPS from procs.

Well for level 55+ there are many options so i will skip this part personally about Weapons ;)

(this is just my personal point of view only , there are still many different options and choices).

/Kind regards Killerduki

I'd like to talk about the weapon list a bit more.

I heard that Ice Barbed Spear can be obtained in AV after a single win at lvl 51?

Yes, if AV is out when you hit 51, which it won't be if you roll on the fresh server, unless you're really slow at lvling.

Right.. Forgot about that. SoI guess the sword from ZF is the best choice around that level.

What sword from ZF? The only 2h from there is the polearm.

Collect both the 1h blue swords, they combine to make an epic. Got it on retail in 2005/6 and on ED.

In 2005 leveled from 44-50 to finally get both drops.

In other words it's not worth trying to get it?
