Aero 13 Report post Posted December 19, 2016 (edited) Hey all, glad to see this addon is still being worked on, im wondering if my previous Nost savedvariables can be used with the newer version? i noticed the .wtf files are now named !questie instead of questie, renaming threw an error.. old questie version is v2.61 thanks Unfortunately the old saved variables are not compatible with the new format. You may be able to edit them to work if you know what you're doing though. First off - thank you for your work on this addon. You bring a ton to this community just keeping something like this going. For the first time in a long time, I'm stumped with an addon. When downloading this, extracting, and putting it in the proper folder, I can't see this as an addon. It doesn't work in game, and doesn't even show up in the Addon list in WoW. I've used Questie before (to great extent thank you!) on Nost. Nothing like this happened previously. For Elysium's Nost, I deleted all previous addons, the WTF folder, and started fresh. This has happened since then. Any thoughts on why this is missing? Thank you again for all your work! Is the folder named "!Questie"? It should be <wow>/Interface/Addons/!Questie Inside the "!Questie" folder you should find !Questie.toc among other things. Aero 13 Report post Posted December 20, 2016 Tooltip Addons dont seem to like questie, Any luck with compatibility? That is due to a bug in the current version, for now use v3.3 and you should be relatively ok. I'm in the process of fixing the tooltip related bugs.

Is the folder named "!Questie"? It should be <wow>/Interface/Addons/!Questie Inside the "!Questie" folder you should find !Questie.toc among other things. Interestingly enough, I wiped my folder for the third time, and now it shows up. I have no clue what I was missing before. Either way, thank you thank you!

Aero 13 Report post Posted December 21, 2016 how to disable indication quests for the other faction? This is a bug with the current database data that will be fixed in v4.0, nothing you can do until then. Have a dublicate quest tips only when use TheoryCraft with 3.3 Questie. This is actually the tooltip bug I fixed in v3.4, but 3.4 had some other bugs so I've had to remove that version from downloads. A fix should be out soon!
Tholren 7 Report post Posted December 21, 2016 Not sure if relevant, but it actually triples the tracking if I combine Questie with EnhTT, TinyT and MobInfo (unless they don't relate at all and I'm a big idiot)

Aero 13 Report post Posted December 24, 2016 (edited) is there any roadmap for Questie developpement ? Not currently, the best there is is the milestones on the github issue tracker: https://github.com/AeroScripts/QuestieDev/milestones I'm going to be keeping the OP here updated with my current tasks also. Current Development Status: v3.5: I'm currently in the process of fixing a few critical bugs, these fixes will be available in v3.5 before Christmas weekend.v4.0: The core code is being rewritten. Current focus is on properly (cleanly) rewriting all the hooks. Some of the solutions 3.x uses are not ideal. I've finished the new database structure, but right now everything is on hold because of the holidays. I wasn't able to get 3.5 finished in time for this weekend, it will be coming out very soon though. Edited December 24, 2016 by Aero

Aero 13 Report post Posted December 26, 2016 I can't track more than 5 quests at a time? this used to work in the old version of questie but not after I upgraded? You should be able to. It's possible this is being caused by the recent tracking glitch (That seems to affect all versions of questie) I'm currently looking into it but have been busy today.
Ruthven 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2016 Hello! I have a question and this looks like the right place to ask. This is how my questie icons look on my minimap -> As if my minimap was a circle not a square. I would like the icons on the very edge just like on this guys minimap -> How can I set it up like that? Thank you for your time and answers!

Thank you for your time and answers! I'm actually trying to figure out why this works only with SOME square minimaps also. If anyone knows I'll stick it in the FAQ. Questie v3.5 is out! Thanks to Dyaxler for this release! Hotfix: Corrected issues with ToolTip mods causing certain ToolTip elements to become stuck in a visible state. Hotfix: Corrected issues with new ToolTip cache system doubling up on displayed info. Re-enabled new features and fixes that were disabled in the previous (v3.4 --> v3.3) rollback: Moved "Toggle Questie" button to a proper location (not on top of the zone dropdowns) Fixed available quest maxlevel filter bug Fixed "icons not showing until map has been opened" bug Added an option to hide all objectives and only show available quests (/questie hideobjectives) Added an option to hide minimap icons (/questie hideminimap) As always, downloads are available on GitHub: https://github.com/AeroScripts/QuestieDev/releases Edited December 27, 2016 by Aero

I really dislike using moveanything, but sometimes I have to.
Ruthven 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2016 So its possible to resize the imaginary circle in which they show so that they would show on the edges of my square minimap? If so, how is that possible?

The minimap code was modified in v2.5 (https://github.com/AeroScripts/QuestieDev/releases/tag/v2.5) to only show quests near the player and in the same zone to keep Questie from showing too many markers on the minimap. It was too cluttered otherwise. Most folks use the world map to plan their quest excursions within a given zone anyways so it made sense to limit the number of icons on the minimap. Quest markers that aren't being tracked are also removed from the Minimap / Worldmap to further reduce the clutter.
Kralomax 1 Report post Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) So its possible to resize the imaginary circle in which they show so that they would show on the edges of my square minimap? If so, how is that possible? When you use moveanything!, move your cursor over the button you want to move. You will notice in the moveanything addon (the section below the main menu with the movement arrows) that the mouseover will display the name of the "Parent" frame you want to move. Just type /move "framename" and it will unlock, and you can drag or resize it as you want. Hope this helps! https://youtu.be/0Rx61KO0o_I edit: oops, I thought you meant the minimap buttons themselves...are you talking of items inside the map? Maybe I'm just confused!
