Elysium Stress Test #2 — Enhanced Performance

Dear community,

 

It's time for the second stress test!

 

This Sunday, November 27th at 6 PM GMT+1, we will be testing our upgraded hardware. We were very pleased with the last test, and expect this one to be even better. All characters and accounts from the last stress test have been wiped as we are also stress testing the web server, and so you will need to create new accounts. The sign-up link can be found here:

We're hoping to get more players for this test so that we can really push the core to it's limits!

The closer we come to crashing, the better our launch time stability will be. 

 

You all did a very good job with spreading throughout the world, and we ask you to do so again! It doesn't matter how strong the hardware is, the lag that comes from having 1,000 players in one zone is exponential. So for that reason, we ask you to once again do your best to run to as many zones as possible. In order to create incentive, we will be spawning some large creatures in designated places to see which group can kill them first! The creatures and their locations will be provided at the time of the stress test.

 

We want to thank everyone for your continued interest, patience, and willingness to help us with these tests. We are as excited as you are to get the new servers up and running, and to reunite you with your characters. Expect to hear from us about a release date some time during the week following the second stress tests completion!

How to check if my internet provider doesn't support DNS? Last I tried, but it gives me a disconnect, so I couldn't enter the realm. How long will last the stress test?

last time stress test i had same problem with you, i alr tried change DNS but still said disconnect, so im just try to login couple times and boom! im connected, maybe its hard to connect due alot of peeps tried it at the same time

I'm registered! I can't guarantee that I will make it (definitely not for the first part). I don't get off work until an hour and a half into the testing, so if it's still going on then I'll join in for the last bit! My suggestion is:   Please create countdown timer and put on news/main page. This will prevent missing peoples because of different time zones. You may use ready working countdown timer if you don't have time to make own script.

Hi! Both me and my roommate want to do the stress test tomorrow, but we're having trouble because w're on the same IP address. I signed up for an account and then when he tried to he got this error: "The IP address is already linked to an account.".  Anything we can do to fix that?

You could try to assign a fixed IP to each of your devices, in this case computers, via the Router Admin Panel. But that is just an uneducated guess. :/

Or just use a device that's hooked on different network, a friend that doesn't play WoW's PC, PC at work? Are internet cafes still a thing around your place? Also, to players who are worrying about the IP restriction - according to this https://forum.elysium-project.org/index.php?showtopic=23367#entry245300 you'll be able to make 4 accounts from 1 IP. But that's not confirmed, it's just a post from the staff.
