Leveling as destro

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

Regarding leveling, I used the following logic in Kronos 2 at the launch day and after and I think it is better than the usual affliction way. I went destruction till Ruin and then Demo. My logic is that in a new beginning, there will be so many players that there is no way you can multi tag/pull mobs. So single target is more important (you can still have one mob running in fear). And you will be more useful in dungeons.

Btw I am a veteran lock, so destruction is not that bad for me.

Only фекал thing about destro is elemental immunity from some of the higher level mobs. I get where you are coming from tho, tip for tagging as a warlock on these servers USE YOUR WAND! It has a slower "cast" time that your spells and hits instantly rather than waiting for tiks. I had my wand ability sitting on my bars i would use it before casting anything else if people were around.

Destruction is quite terrible for leveling. There's too many better benefits from the other trees. The main concern is Siphon Life and Demonic Sacrifice, either of which are obvious choices over anything out of Destruction. By 51, you can slot both, leaving Destruction with as a forgotten third wheel with too few points left to get Shadowburn, it's main valuable talent. Simply put, spending points into Destruction on a pre 60 lock means wasting points that could have been better spent in the other trees.

Btw, if you're having trouble tagging, either use your pet, or click your wand button. I'll admit the instant cast Shadowburn could be helpful here, but if tag warring really a good enough reason to put 11 points into this фекал?

I typed s h i t. I'm not used to this board's baby censoring. I assume the other guy typed the same thing. I hate forum censors, as if someone's child is going to read a damn internet forum. Please.

I'm also a veteran lock player myself, like I said I know where you are coming from. Looking at the bigger picture tho, the other talents give you so much more when leveling. Holding packs of mobs while regenerating more than enough hp, if not your voidwalker bubble is so delicious. If you plan on pvping destro is great for blowing people up, even then if you want to survive having the other talents are somewhat needed. Your curses help in a lot of situations a lot of locks don't use them tho, affliction tree helps with these. I'm not going to tell you how to play you should in fact play what you want this is a game and how you want to play is entirely up to you. Myself I love demo but I have levelled on nost as affliction after trying destro thinking it would be "handy" I died so much faster than as afflic.

Just my 2c.

Leveling as destro is not mana efficient and you have more downtime but it is fun as hell, I usually play with imp because it is an extra dot and start with SB->imolate->fear->coruption->CoA->wand, and if it gets to close fear or ShadowBurn if low health.

I focus on mostly intelect gear and stamina.

I'm lvl 23 now and can't wait to get ruin :)

That's literally what you play as affi / demo, except the shadowbolt in the end to let the void hold aggro as long as possible.
