moonsti 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) Greetings everyone, So with the launch of Elysium coming soon I was looking at which class I should play when I come back (I plan to re-roll a new character on both Nost and Ely launch) and I was wondering what you guys thought the best class is for PvP when you have lag. Now, this doesn't have the be the best class at PvP, but the least aggravating in PvP when you have high ping. If I remember correctly, I had around 160-190ms personally and played a warrior. It was cancer. Excited to see what everyone says! EDIT: I made a video talking about the best classes after gathering polls from various sources. check it out! Motorbreath 923 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 From melee specs I would choose shaman as the only one not tied to melee completely. You can counter enemy abilities with totems, slow from a relatively high range and keep doing damage/healing even if you leave melee range because of lag. All the others do seem even more inferior and unforgiving to reaction failures to me. Healers... It's hard to tell. I'd stick with HoTs and shields, but pally and shammy insta heals can save the day in case of a lag as well. And their saving abilities are cool. I would say just don't go druid. Casters... Definitely warlock, maybe shadow priest. DoTs and survivability > reaction based control in case of lags.
Motorbreath 923 Report post Posted December 1, 2016 Actually, forget what I said about druids, The second HoT and the ability to turn it into an instant heal as well as mobility should do the trick. Imo all the healing classes are about equal - just with their own specifics.
Device 2 Report post Posted December 1, 2016 Melee is definitely warriors with the right gear they can two shot people with the auto attack lag and tend to stay up. Caster is definitely lock/hunter just due to pet, autoattack, and dots. I feel like healer is gear dependent. Pally/shaman on average probably the best for bubble and shock evasion

Device 2 Report post Posted December 1, 2016 never seen a more incorrect post on these forums yet http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=9199 You can see the apparent lag in this video. I hope you roll horde on the new server. =D Be sure to focus my priest.
Motorbreath 923 Report post Posted December 1, 2016 Hunter isn't even close to wl/sp because you must keep your distance and react with fd/trap/scatter. Pet and sting alone won't save you. You can do 1/3 - 1/2 damage against a melee with some raptor strike crits and deterrence, but good luck killing them unless they have the same lag or some other extreme disadventage.

Jutting 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2016 I hate how relevant this topic is to my situation. I will be rolling on the new fresh pvp server and my ping is going to be around 200. Atleast the weather is nice in California, right?

Atleast the weather is nice in California, right? Don't worry, I feel your SoCal pain bro. I was all set on Hunter, but I'm starting to consider Warlock. I could roll another Paladin, but вау leveling as a Paladin.

Fubbzy 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2016 I'd advise against druid and rogue. druids rely heavily on timing your shifts correctly to stay out of roots/slows, and you can mess yourself up often. it really sucks to waste a ton of mana by shifting in and out of bear accidentally because you thought you just didn't hit your keybind hard enough, but it was just lag. no idea why rogue is the highest voted melee, but I wouldnt listen to that at all. if you want to play rogue at a high level and outplay, less lag is a must- I know a few rogues who quit or rerolled on nost because of it.
