[AddOn] aux and more

Recommended Posts

I'm experiencing a weird bug, I can't see the "Historical Value" field in the Post tab.

(as seen in this picture: https://camo.githubusercontent.com/24cfe5f784dd4b3c5f69b9cbf371777db987bb5a/687474703a2f2f692e696d6775722e636f6d2f775a6b73364c302e706e67)

Downloaded the latest version from Github and deleted all previous addon files before..any idea where this is coming from?

It's not a bug. The historical value was moved to the price listing where it is shown colored in green.

Can i get a link to the newest version of aux addon but with the classic ah look and not this ugly TSM look which i really cannot stand? Hoping to get a link to an older version of aux for blizzard ah look :)

You'll have to find it yourself in the commits. I strongly recommend using the newer version though. Even if you prefer the blizzard look I think that hardly justifies missing out on the million improvements since then.

Is it possible for me to share historical data from one account to another?

P.S.

What are the chances aux will be able to show a 14 or 20 day line graph of scanned price history?

Addons cannot communicate across accounts. You can always manually copy the savedvariables files of course.

For the history the problem is there are conflicting requirements. On the one hand, generating a history for percentages/tooltips should require as little effort and take as little time for as many items as possible, which doesn't require much detail and requires efficient storage and calculation. On the other hand sometimes it would be interesting to have a more detailed look at price developments but that requires very different data with which the other things couldn't be done.

None of the big retail addons keep notably more historical data than aux, for this reason I guess, but then there is a separate retail addon for what you want: https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/market-watcher.

So, the current aux history will not likely ever change because I think it is pretty much as good as it can be for what it is intended for now. What I might do is at some point add a separate tab with its own history similar to the market watcher addon above (much more detailed data, interval by scan not by day so you can monitor development during the day, only monitor a few selected items rather than all). But I doubt I'll find the time to do this soon if at all.

shirsig,

What is the bag addon being used in the screenshots for your Clean_Up_GUI addon?

It looks like Bagnon, but with more features than the versions I can find for Vanilla.

Anyone else have the issue that wide searches doesnt work anymore in new Aux? Or is it because of the HUGE database on Nostalrius AH? When I was on Kronos and using old Aux I could do searches like "of fire resistance" or "of the gorilla" and then see all items, now on Nostalrius and will newest Aux I get no items at all. I can however find them if I browse my way.

Kronos added the non blizzlike feature to make a name search for suffixes.

Not sure what you're looking to do exactly.

You can do a tooltip search like "tooltip/of fire resistance" which will scan the whole AH or add some blizzard query like "armor/cloth/of fire resistance"

For the "Aux" addon:

Is there a way to have the tooltip sell to vendor value show as the total instead of just showing the individual value of the item? As in, if you have a stack of 16 of the same item, getting the tooltip to show how much that stack will vendor for.

Yes. Hold down shift.

Good stuff, any toggle option to have always have it on? (lua editing or something?)

Edit: found it! just deleted a line in the Tooltip lua.

Cheers for the add ons, these are cool!

/cooldowns clickthrough doesn't seem to work the way i was hoping as i cannot turn the camera if the cursor is on an icon. Any chance of enabling this? Those times when the camera doesn't move, you know?  ;)

Man, not sure if I asked already, but is it possible to add profiles? By that I mean I'm usually looking for completely different things on different character, herbs on my alchemist, recipes for different crafters, and a lot of items for my resell on my auction banker, I'd rather keep search list clean on my crafters after searching things to resell on my sniper.

Thanks a lot for your addon! Can't thank you enough :D

Oh, man, since you are on WIM project as well, could you patch it up so it would catch whispers after SpamThrottle? Because this is a bit annoying to maintain 2 identical spam filters, for chat and for whispers separately.

The latest version of aux has somewhat simplified filters. buy- prefixes were removed, some abbreviations were expanded, min-price was removed: 0FvOxmA.png?1

I don't think it's worth it giving characters individual search listings. I actually changed it from character to account wide at some point because it was annoying to not have the history available when on an alt and vanilla doesn't have that many useful items yet anyway.

Not sure what you mean about WIM. My WIM modification has a setting to ignore whispers from <lvl10.

They sell gold for living, and best gold sellers make... let's say A LOT.

As for invites, get SpamThrottle, but not default version, there is fork on GitHub with patch for turn these invites down.

Aux gives me the following error when trying to Alt buyout/bid. I also can't expand the blue rows. This is with only Aux enabled and after deleting all Aux files in WTF folder. I also tried deleting cache and populating wdb but it didn't help. Any ideas?

Error:  attempt to index field `row' (a nil value)
AddOn: aux-addon
File: frame.lua
Line: 522
Count: 1

Hi Shirsig, thank you for keeping Aux updated. I just wanted to mention that when I tell Aux to scan the entire auction house, my game crashes to the desktop at around the 30th page of scanning. This is the first time I tried doing a full scan on my desktop and it crashes. I tried it on a laptop and it scanned all 550 pages without a problem. What could I try doing to see why I'm crashing? Both the laptop and the desktop have the same configuration. Also regular scans work fine, it just seems to crash when I scan the entire auction house.
