polmohr 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2016 (edited) So i was thinking, has there been made any decisions at wich time on the release day the servers will be launched? Will it be following the same pattern as the test realms (Sunday 18.00 GMT+1) or would there be random dates, like "as soon as it's ready" dates. The traffic would probably be huge if it's release any day at 18.00 GMT +1, since that's usually where old nostalrius peaked. So my suggestion is: Would it be better to get people spread out the world, if the servers f.ex. openened at night time in europe, like 03.00 GMT+1, since there would not be as many players able to play at that time, resulting in less in-game lag? Before someone says it, there's no agenda behind this post, since i'm from Europe, and start school at 08.00. Just hoping for a less crowded start. gotmilk0112 10 Report post Posted December 3, 2016 Server openings are unstable laggy messes. There's really nothing you can do to mitigate it, outside of setting super low player caps, which nobody likes.

Banezilla 2 Report post Posted December 3, 2016 Early morning would be best, that's when all of the no lifers are sleeping since they don't have jobs. In reality they will release the servers when their staff is available, so during prime time.
Emptora 17 Report post Posted December 3, 2016 Regardless of when the rollout is planned the demand is such that there will be an overwhelming amount of players ready to log in. Even if there was only 1 hour advance warning, and it was at non-peak time. There will undoubtedly be thousands of people vying for a their spot. That being said, it seems the Dev team has the bottleneck issue under control. Here's to a smooth launch.
Banezilla 2 Report post Posted December 3, 2016 That being said, it seems the Dev team has the bottleneck issue under control. You think they do, but they don't. Their priority isn't the starting zones, they're focusing on sever stability.

I don't doubt that, but this would still migitate some of the stress from the opening, without any extra effort from the Devs.
Kharodin 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2016 What if they started with a lower pop cap then every hour or so they increase it?
