bengerman777 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2016 Before I get started I already know this is a pretty bad idea and I already have pretty good setup that can play WoW. I just want to do this as a Video Project for my YouTube channel and mainly for the Nostalgia The first time I ever tried to play world of warcraft I used my first purchased family computer. I remember playing the free trial around 2009 I think... well sometime around there. It was the only computer I had at the time which was my Compaq Presario that was purchased back in 2004 at Circuit City. I'm also trying to get back the old CRT monitor, speakers, mouse and keyboard that I used. So far I found the mouse and keyboard but the monitor and speakers I can't find anywhere to purchase them. Anyway here is the all the info I could gather. Not sure on the model but it looks just like the Compaq Preario SR1230NX Model: ? System: Microsoft Windows XP ProCPU: Intel Celeron 2.67 GHzRAM: 1.24 GBI don't know what GPU it has but this is what I could figure out using run dxdiag...GPU: DAC Type Internal. Intel 82845G. With 64.0 MB of memory (Also wondering if I can upgrade this PC with a PNY NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS (VCG84DMS5R3SXPB) 512MB DDR2 SDRAM PCI GPU if possible please let me know) Not sure on the motherboard but this what I got...Motherboard: Manufacturer sion MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL Product Gamila/Giovani/Neon series When I was playing through the trial I remember getting decent frames and not lagging at all. I was playing on this monitor Compaq FS7555 17 inch flat screen CRT through VGA and most likely had the resolution low. Since this is vanilla WoW I think I should be able to play at decent frames especially if I upgrade to that GPU but I still don't know if the motherboard and power supply can handle it. If anyone can help that would be awesome and I'm also still trying to buy the monitor and speakers so if anyone know of a website or place around Los Angeles California that sells old PCs, monitors and other stuff like that please let me know
Res 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2016 System requirements Microsoft Windows Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7(32- & 64-bit supported) Intel Pentium 4 1.3 GHz or AMD Athlon XP1500+ 1 GB or more of RAM NVIDIA Geforce FX 5000, ATI Radeon 9500,Intel GMA 4500, Intel HD[4] or better. 25 GB free HD space 4× DVD-ROM drive (downloadable installer also available) Broadband Internet connection (the optical drive and the broadband internet connections aren't required for obvious reasons) Since you have over 1GB of ram and 64MB graphics memory should be over the min requirements for vanilla. And the CPU should be more than enough. That doesn't look like a too uncommon setup for old wow. But I'm no expert on old hardware so I might be wrong. Why don't you just try it?

cryofsorrow 5 Report post Posted December 6, 2016 You are going to have bad time with that internal GPU. The rest of the specs are good enough.
TheOfficialLion 4 Report post Posted December 6, 2016 You will probably be able to run it, but probably not on the highest settings. Greetings

Thanks for the system requirements! I'm not near my old PC right now I will be in a week. I just wanted to know before I started purchasing the rest of the setup. Basically to see if it's worth it. If you were able to run it before, you will be able to run it now /thread Right but I didn't know if this new vanilla wow had changed some system requirements. I only just started looking into vanilla wow for almost a week now and had zero knowledge of it. I was thinking since it was brought back that it would have like a HD texture thing going on but now I see that's not the case You are going to have bad time with that internal GPU. The rest of the specs are good enough. I know I just purchased that graphics card that I mentioned and it should be arriving on the day I go back to where my old PC is located It should be better since it has 512MB. Plus I'm planning on playing on an old monitor if I can find it. If not I'll still run it on a lower resolution. You will probably be able to run it, but probably not on the highest settings. Greetings Hello! Yeah I know just as long as it's playable Thanks for all the help guys really appreciate it
