Shayss 43 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 You can run WoW on a potato and still be fine.
Daedric 4 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 As Shayss said; you pretty much CAN run it on a potato. The game is over ten years old, so any computer made within the last five or ten years can run it.
Xyf 1 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 If you must know the "exact" specs, here you go, straight from the box:

Ellipsea 36 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) I run this stuff on a fishtank, TV rabbit ears, and an old sega controller. You can do eettt. I don't know what the actual tech specs are, but I honestly think if you can watch youtube videos, you can play old wow. Whoa someone has original specs....nice. Do you actually need 32MB graphics card? Edited December 11, 2016 by Ellipsea
arbet 9 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) According to Kotaku: OS: 98 or newer CPU: 800MHz single core GPU: 32MB HDD: 4GB RAM: 256MB It should run OK on older systems, although this is 2016 it really is the exact game that was being played 10 years ago so it was designed for 10 year old computers - and the game has always been extremely scalable and playable on poor machines. The only thing I would say is about the CPU requirements. Elysium will be a lot greater populated than the original game was intended to be, so will need a better CPU to perform adequately. A good CPU will make a massive difference. I have an i5-4670K and was struggling to hit 100fps or even 60fps some times on the stress test, although that is when there were 1000 people in the same spot. spaggethore 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 sorry, another question, if the server is too poblated i will have a bad fps experience right? in raids will be the same time?. Thanks.
Tholren 7 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 sorry, another question, if the server is too poblated i will have a bad fps experience right? in raids will be the same time?. Thanks. Raids will be the same time? What? The more people you have in your screen the more things your computer will need to process so, yes, the more of a performance impact it will have, in broad terms. Raids might also prove more stressful for your machine for the previous reason. However, if you don't try to run everything at the maximum detail all the time I don't see a reason for you to suffer performance issues, unless there is a really big amount of people next to you.
arbet 9 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 raids are generally the most demanding time in WoW as you have 40 people in close proximity using lots of spells rapidly, so your CPU has to do a lot of processing. Given how densely populated the server will be anyway though, raids may actually be easier on your PC in some instances, compared to having literally hundreds of people in the starting areas.
Papajimboh 12 Report post Posted December 12, 2016 sorry, another question, if the server is too poblated i will have a bad fps experience right? in raids will be the same time?. Thanks. Hey Spagg, The server population as a TOTAL shouldn't affect you with low specs. If the server is overloaded, you'll be getting lag even on a beast PC. As far as your PC affects the game, you'll only be affected by what is actually on your screen. If you have issues, you can adjust certain parts of the graphics to improve performance while leaving others turned up. For example, you can turn down all textures and just leave spell effects on high enough to see them, without them being on high.

spaggethore 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2016 and, if there is a lot of people connected , the ping will be very high? because my internet is crappy at some point I come from cataclysm expansion.
arbet 9 Report post Posted December 12, 2016 and, if there is a lot of people connected , the ping will be very high? because my internet is crappy at some point I come from cataclysm expansion. the servers are designed to handle a lot of players. Nostalrius was fine for the most part, with occasional ping spikes. The server latency will affect everyone though regardless of how good their internet is.
Daedric 4 Report post Posted December 12, 2016 If you want a breakdown, try this site: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri Just search for 'World of Warcraft' (nothing after that, because those are the expansions) and it can analyze your computer to figure out for certain. Obviously it's not perfect, but it's a nice little tool.

I don't think many people were running Windows 8 in 2004.

I saw that there was a selection (halfway down the search list for 'World of Warcraft' that had just the base vanilla version.
Papajimboh 12 Report post Posted December 12, 2016 I may have overlooked it if there was another one. But just "World of Warcraft" now includes up through WoD, so I was assuming that's what it included.
